It wasn't as bad as Jeff says. It kept my attention the
whole time and I and everybody I went with came away very
satisfied. This movie has everything; action, drama,
revenge, comedy, romance etc. I highly recommend it.

This wasn't nearly so bad as JEff Vice makes it out to be.
I
really enjoyed it as did everyone in the theater and all of
my movie-going friends who have seen it thus far.
The dialogue is anachronistic, but fun for all that. The
hero is bland, true, but not unpleasant to watch. The
characters are just enough true to life to feel normal and
enough over-the-top drama (melodrama?) to make you smile.
A
fun flick.

I admit that when I went to see this movie with my wife I
thought that I wouldn't like it at all. But I was
pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I thought
that Jim Caviezel gave a spectacular performance and the
minor characters made for a great supporting cast as well.
I thought that the film was great.

As usual our esteemed critic is way out there on his
criticsm of movies. I have seen this movie twice and am a
real movie lover since I was a child. I also own the Count
of Monte Cristo starring Robert Donat which I love. Our
Critic probably would hate that one too. My opinion of this
version is a wonderful diversion from the horrors of life.
That is what we go to the movies for....Escape....I love
this one and it is really easy to fall in love with the
hero. Dantes.
So dear critic....I vehemently disagree with you.

Great movie. A must see definately. If you don't like
this movie you are either an idiot or your name is Jeff
Vice.

This was a good old fashion swashbuckler! It was a rousing
adventure, a sweeping romance and excellent sword fights.
What more could Jeff Vice want. I do realize that it was
not exactly faithful to Alexander Dumas's classic, which I
have read, but then no adaption has been completely
faithful, otherwise it would be too melodramatic and more
importantly too complicated. Anyway what made this versoin
so refreshing was the fact that it was so different from
the other film versions that have come before. If you want
good escapist fun than this is the movie to go see.

This is an excellent film. It doesn't seem rushed,
although the book is over 800 pages long. The scenes
between Caviezel and Harris in the prison are beautiful.
It has a happier ending than in the book, but that's okay.
It still seemed loyal to the spirit of the book. And it
had a great message of forgiveness, redemption, and family
love. It was enjoyable to see Dantes scrumptious and
unbelievable wealth. Very satisfying to see him only
triumph after suffering so long. Great acting, dynamic
characters. It was tastefully humorous and dramatic. Jeff
Vice doesn't know what he's talking about. In fact, I knew
it would be a great movie if he didn't like it.

Excellent movie. The casting was great. The plot and
storyline was awesome. As soon as it get out on vidio I
will be a first to buy it.

I just saw this movie even though it's been out for a while
now. I was enthralled by the movie, the storyline, the
cinematography, the aciting ... everything. I knew I would
like it when I saw that Jeff Vice gave it two stars. I've
yet to see one of his four star movies that I liked, and
haven't failed to like one of his two star movies. As I've
said before, the "News" needs to get a movie critic who can
relate to the vast majority of the audience in this state,
and one who actually enjoys movies. If you read his reviews
(I've read most of them), you know that he begins every one
with a negative sentence - even the ones he likes!

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Would
recommend to anyone!

My wife and I ignored Jeff Vice's review (as usual) and saw
the movie. We thought it was one of the best movies of the
year.

One of the best shows I've seen in quite a while. Jeff
Vice really muffed the review on this one.

best movie i've seen in a long time. Our movie critic
needs to get a life. It was so wonderful especially the
ending. I am defenetly buying it on video.

I must agree with the previous reviews listed here. Saw
this
at the budget cinema the other evening and gathered my two
teenage daughters for a return visit last night. This is
not
a great film and there are some lapses in dialogue and
other
minor details that detract slightly from the overall
cinematic effect. But.....this is a fine film and certainly
above-average entertainment. Great locations, great
costumes, exciting swordplay and more than adequate acting
which steps above the norm when Richard Harris is on
screen.
I am always in admiration of filmakers in this day and age
who can make a film without nudity, extreme violence, sex
or
profanity, and still make an entertaining movie. Here it
is...this is not a classic by any means, but don't miss the
chance to see on the big screen, or the small, a good film
made nearly the way they used to make them. Yes it misses
in
some minor areas but the pluses definitely out weigh the
minuses. Go and enjoy a movie that has values still
relevant
today: the hero wins and also learns something about
revenge, friendship, love and God. Hard to believe
Hollywood
can still do it in the midst of so much cinematic dreck
out there. Believe it or not it is all here and done quite
well.

Very interesting movie with a lot of actions and sword
fights. Also a lot of starrtagy and planning. I also had
some interesting commments and ideas to make the wheels of
the mind turn. Overal I enjoyed the experiance

About seeing this movie, I was very skeptical, I honestly
didn't really want to. However I was entertained and it
turned out to be an excellent movie. The ending is very
different from the book's ending, but I view that as a
positive thing. Great movie!

I really enjoyed the movie. I loved the book. I was
dissapointed where it deviated from the book but it was
far more faithful than The Time Machine, which really blew
it.

this movie draws you in from the beganning. the lead
actors play their parts well, as do the charcter actors.
more fun to watch than the made for tv adventure with
richard chamberlin which was above average. there is no
swearing, what little sexual content is not offensive.
blood and gore is less than most tv shows but well done.
Danna Hawkes | 2:32 p.m. June 21, 2003
This is one of my favorite movies. Excellent acting,
scenery, plot, well-choreographed swordplay. This movie
really pulled me in from the start, and i have yet to hear
from someone who didn't like this movie. Well-made.
