After reading the negative review of this film by Deseret
News film critic, Jeff Vice, I nearly passed on it; then I
remembered something a friend once remarked: "film
critics typically criticize good films, and write glowing
reviews for dull "artsy" foreign films with English
subtitles". I'm glad I remembered that statement
because I haven't any regrets after seeing "I Dreamed
of Africa". It's a touching drama, well-paced and
masterfully framed by wonderful cinematography.
Forget anything negative you may read by the critics,
unlike "Out of Africa", this film is passionately REAL,
thought provoking, and spiritually moving.
