In the Deseret News review of EDtv it was rated 3 stars,
'PG', and delightful. No warnings about the tastless sex
scenes, full prolonged rear female nudity, and vulgar
morning scene with 'ED'. Also the movie is PG13, not PG.
Based on the review we took our children and their friends.
I walked out midway through very embarrassed and offended.
The source that I relied on for protection from such filth
is no longer trustworthy. It is sad that the critics have
become so desensitized that nothing was found offensive
enough in this movie to be worth even a caution in the
review. The review took care to note the acting abilities
of the cast, why not equal time to cover the crass and
tastelessness of the dialoge and scenes? I believe my
families movie days are coming to an end as is my reading of
the movie reviews.

This is the last time I go to a movie based solely on a
critic's review. If you didn't like the previews of this
movie, trust your feelings. I wasn't impressed with the
preview, but thought it might be worth seeing after a 3 star
review. Boy was I wrong!

1 1/2 Stars would be more accurate. Although I feel the
movie potentially had a good message, it missed it by a long
shot and hit the gutter instead.

EDtv, was a very raunchy version of The Truman Show. Jeff
Vice's review could have included some warnings to the drawn
out sex scene. The atmosphere of the movie was anything but
innocent. The movie was PG13 for a reason, and should have
been considered for an R instead.

edtv is a wonderful new comedy from director ron howard
who has directed comic gems before film likes parenthood,
splash, and one of my favorites night shift.

edtv tells what life would be like on a 24 hour day basis
and it tell it very well.
between edtv and the truman show my pick is edtv.

edtv is not a great film but it is one of ron howard's
best comedies people will remember this for a long time.

edtv a comedy worth watching now on home video.
