Clint Eastwood is certainly an excellent director, and he
does a very good job in the western genre here too. Highly
recommended.

Oh what fun!... let's watch some of our favorite stars blow
each other's brains out! This disgusting, depressing, tour
through darkness, hatred, revenge and misery won an Oscar
for best picture... bleah. I hated this movie almost as
much as I did "Speed 2"... and that's saying a lot!

Almost there as a movie in itself and as a directorial
offering from Clint Eastwood.

The basic storyline implies more than 2 stars but negative
aspects include the unliklihood of Morgan Freeman's black
sidekick role and a preposterous Richard Harris complete
with biographer!

Unforgiven is cast as a group of stereotypes from the 'tart
with a heart', through the seen-it-all tough guy, turn left
at the 'bad Sherriff' and you arrive at the dying young
companion.

Only Gene Hackman shines on screen, quite an achievement
since his character is built chiefly by episodes showing
his shambolic attempt at house construction.

General no brain watchability are just enough to push this
one out of the 'Turkey' bracket. Ahhh but the Emperor's
new suit is simply splendid!

Unforgiven is the furthest thing from stereotype! This film is legendary and one of Eastwood's very best. Movies don't get much more moving and profound and you are trash talking it because you won't take the time to understand the beauty of it. This film is a deviation from typical film making and it succeeds because of that.
