I first got familiar with that name when I saw a couple of
his movies like 48 Hrs. and Hard Times. However I
particularly was impressed by his Trespass because of his
awareness on street violence, racism, greed and betrayal.
Also each of the roles in the film were not typecasted for
white or black actors. Bill Paxton and Bill Sadler were
probably expected to be those same old hick country boys
looking to conquer the world by finding the gold. I don't
think so! Bill Paxton was more or less the conscience and
possibly the good guy along with Art Evans. Bill Sadler was
the greedy and most uncompromising between the three. As
for the gang members, rappers Ice-T and Ice Cube are facing
off against each other on how to eliminate the so-
called "intruders". I know that what the characters of Ice-
T and Ice Cube are naturally evil, I saw some general good
in Ice-T. He's just an ordinary man trying to get his
brother back and nothing more. He was more scientific and
philosophical than Ice Cube when approaching a problem as
serious as this; after all, he was the leader, right? Also
I felt sorry for the character of De'Vereaux White, who was
a poor, crippled herion junkie who wouldn't deserve his
fate if had not been for him following his older brother
into a life of crime. Trespass should remind us all that
greed knows no color, and people who you thought were
friends may turn out to put knives in your back
