A great Idea, and a great movie. The only thing I really
have to complain about is that Ra dies. They cut off the
possibility of there being more of these self imposed gods
out there as there was only one alien in the heiroglyphs,
thus in the final fight the entire enemy threat is desroyed
leaving a "happily ever after" sort of atmosphere, I would
have enjoyed a little plot twist, like Ra new that he was
in possible danger above in his ship and for the last fight
haad a servant pretend to be him, then slave dies instead
and there is a last show down in front of portal, or...even
back in the military lab on earth.

Stargate was an interesting idea for a movie, but was
written in a very mediocre way. The film has some good
visuals, and is certainly worth watching, but it too often
looks like a weird dream. Perhaps in the hands of a more
talented director than Roland Emmerich it could have had
more potential. In the meantime, I hope to get a chance to
check out the USA cable tv show that's based on it.

I actually really liked this movie. It could of been
better, the love story sucked, but over all it was
awesome, I plan on watching it again.
