I have to disagree with Jeff Vice on this one. Not only
did I find the premise of the movie interesting, but I
really liked the relationship which developed between the
lead characters. And far from preposterous, I found the
ending a delightful surprise. All things considered, it's
probably not a movie for people who are not comfortable
leaving "the everyday" and "reality" behind, but then
again, that seems to me to be a big reason we go to movies
in the first place. Maybe Jeff had some bad popcorn
watching this one. :-) Oh, and one more thing... according
to the IMDB and my local theater, the rating is PG-13, not
R.

I thought that Sliding Doors was an excellent film and a superb debut for Peter Howitt. I feel that Jeff Vice was a little harsh towards Gwyneth's English accent and I, being English, think she did a good job. The film is 'different' and its structure a little weird in places but gives those who have been cheated on some hope that all will be well in the end! A good film well worth a look and I await Peters Howitts next production...

I saw this movie a few weeks ago and liked it very much in
how it depicts parallel lives and possibilities. And in
contrast to what Jeff Vice said, Gwyneth Paltrow did a very
convincing British accent and was very charming in her
double role.

This is one of my favorite movies. It gives me such a
different perspective on life. One decision can change your
entire life. Gwenyth did a great job and her accent was
pretty good if you ask me. This is a keeper.
