I like Tony Scott's work, but your right
he mimics himself alot. Some things didn't ring true; and
can I picture the Costner/ Quinn relationship? Well no
not like that. I definitely wanted to see more from Stowe
and Costner's fling. It's not everyday you fall in love at
first sight with the alluring wife of a political figurehead
controlling "Big Gate", who happens to be an old friend.
I believe the review was close; yet the reviewer seemed
to watch the film with his mind more than his heart. I think
the movie was intended to be simple - as in one indulging
themselves in a secret pleasure, not exactly forbidden.
The look was to enchant us with infidelity; the violence
was cold and brutal(in parts) to remind us of the real
world. What would you do if your partner's wife looked
like Stowe and gave you the chance to explore her untouched
passions full of innocence and sensual/ sexual emotions?
What the hell would he do if he found out? 1 + 1 = 2 right?
It was'nt a crime like rape, but a severe breach of trust
and sincereness of character that keeps us wondering what is
going to happen-when we know the worst is inevitable.I have
just watched the film with my wife and I can't believe it
had us both in tears. It's like crying when someone keys
your ride or finding out your best friend is doing your
mother or better still your wife. There is really nothing
you can do but TRY to get revenge. Until I become a big shot
director or my script sells for a 6 digits; please tell
me how can I become a film critic. I enjoy analyzing movies;
me and the wife do it everytime we talk movies! Why not do
something you love and get paid for it,huh?
