I would be a happy man if everyone in the world saw this
film. It strikes me that the issues of alcohol and drug
related violence within the home, are not just restricted to
a South London housing estate. I am sure these problems are
rife throughout late capitalist society. If films like The
Full Monty continue to speak worldwide for the british film
industry then we might as well throw in the towel right now.
The distribution inequalities between these films means that
the british are looked on as comical, impotent citizens and
not as Oldman is trying to suggest, a gritty violent natured
population. It is about time that entertainment gave way to
revelation. If people want to be entertained in order to
escape the horrors of their lives, they are not addressing
the problem, but merely positioning it at the feet of the
entertainment makers who proceed to ignore them and
represent instead the frivolities of british working class
life. Mr Oldman should receive all the encouragement and
praise of a national hero for daring to open up this bag of
atrocities within the sensationalist film culture that we
are experiencing. This film is a must for all those "one
pint wont hurt" morons, and a relief for their families.

I am about to write my Thesis on this film and would
appreciate feedback from anyone who shares my feelings or
anyone that challenges them.
