I watched the movie yesterday, and I have to tell you, it was probably the best movie I have ever watched. I'm a college student and I actually learned some valuable things in this movie about medicine! I think that what the Odone's did was truly a miracle. And I hope Lorenzo gets well. Are they gonna make a Lorenzo's Oil Part 2? I'd really like to see how Lorenzo is doing....... Thank You!

My wife and I are parents to a boy with Asperger's Syndrome.
When we lived in Israel, we had no idea what to do for him,
and we faced overt hostility almost everywhere we went. We
were blamed for his problem; we were threatened by the
authorities that he would be taken from us. We were driven
into poverty trying to help him. Ultimately, we brought him
to the U.S., and at last he is doing better. The thing that
motivated me to stick by him despite all odds was a film
that I saw on television in 1994: Lorenzo's Oil. If the
Adone family could devote themselves so totally to saving
the life of their son, I decided that I owe my son no less
than that. No movie has ever had such an effect on me. I
know that the story on film could not possibly reflect what
the Adone family endured in real life, but the message is
one that every responsible parent should know and implement
in the face of adversity; I did, and I don't regret it.

I am 15 years old and I thought that this movie was
amazing. My biology teacher showed this to our class and
it moved us all. We also wanted to know how Lorenzo was
doing and found out he can now move one arm!! I think it
was a really well done movie and I think that they
portrayed the picture of a suffering family VERY well

I thought Lorenzo's Oil was a fantastic and very realistic
movie. I viewed this movie in my year 11 psychology class,
and we were in tears the whole way through it. It showed
the determination of parents who would do anything for
their son, even if it meant rebelling against higher
authorities. It really made you think about things, it's a
pity more movies aren't the same.

ps. Thanx for the great site, it was fantastic to see
other peoples views on the movie.

I watched this movie and I wept. I could not believe the
strength, courage, love, and determination from Mr. and Mrs.
Adone. Everything they did was in the name of their son.
They proved that fighting was worth all the pain and
humuliation. They did it. Absolutely amazing! Whatever
happened to Lorenzo? I have searched and searched to find
out how he is. I haven't had any luck. If anyone knows,
can you please e-mail me? Thank you. I loved the passion
from the family, friends, and some doctors. Emily.

i Loved this incredible movie. Reminded me that love can
move mountains. Does anyone know how Lorenzo is doing? If
anyone does I would really appreciate an update or where to
find any update on this little boy (who must be 15 or so
now!) Thanks a million!!

It was a very powerful and touching movie that was well done. I really enjoyed it alot. I just found out that Lorenzo is dead he died at the age of 17.
Susan Willden | 8:48 p.m. March 20, 1999
the movie was very well done - it took a difficult subject
and carried us along with it, learning as we went. I
watched it because I have a six month old niece that was
just diagnosed with cerebrohepatorenal (Zellwgers's)
syndrome, one of the metabolic peroxisomil disorders of
which ADL is a part. We are trying to understand what our
options are in helping her.
Patt Lenfestey | 9:30 a.m. March 21, 1999
I loved the film. Just saw it last night. The film
protrayed depth and character and at the end I noticed they
gave Agusto an honorary medical degree. I'd like to know
if Lorenzo is still alive. They did mention the film was
concluded in 1992 and at that time he had regained some
function. I am going to read more on the subject of ALD.
My heart goes out to the parents of these children. I
think it was very effective when the woman in the audience
(with the ALD child taking "Lorenzo's Oil") stood up and
proclaimed it works. It was very effective that others
didn't agree and then all of a sudden everybody wanted
some. Please advise how I can research and find out about
the Odone familiy and Lorenzo. Thank you very much.

This was an excellent movie. I try to watch it everytime
it airs. I commend the parents for taking the initiative
to find a cure for Lorenzo and the other children that were
suffering from the disease. I also think that the mystery
of science is great but the scientists and doctors ( in the
movie ),especially the doctors, wanted to continuously use
the children as lab rats which was causing many of the
children to die when they should have listened to the
parents in the first place!!!! It just goes to show that
doctors are not always right and you don't need a Phd to
find a solution to an illness.

I often wonder about Lorenzo and if you have any
information about his will being would you please let me
know. Although I do not know him personally, I love
children and it hurts to see them suffer, especially when
they have no control over what has happened to them.

I hope he is doing well and May God have a blessing on him
and his family and all the other parents and children that
are suffering.

I thought that this was a very good movie and I think that
Lorenzo, Micaela, and Augusto are the bravest people I've
heard of. I wish that I could meet them. When I get older, I
will put my heart into helping Lorenzo and his parents fight
this awful disease. Until then, Adieu.
Beth Bunnell | 7:50 p.m. April 4, 1999
My Genetics class watched this movie. My teacher felt that
it was a great movie for our class to watch. I thought that
it was great that Lorenzo's family didn't give up because
they wanted to save their little boy. In the future I plan
to become a docotor because I want to help children like
Lorenzo. I feel that this was a great movie. There isn't
too many movies that explain a disease. With my interest
in medicine I would really like to see more. This movie was
great.
Rhonda | 11:20 a.m. April 10, 1999
This movie is such an inspiration. The Myelin Project, started by Lorenzo's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Odone, works to unite the scientific, medical, and family communities while fighting the normal pride and bureacracy of medicine. I contacted this foundation this week and found out that Lorenzo Odone is still alive! He will turn 21 next month (May, 1999)
Tiffany | 5:48 p.m. April 11, 1999
I saw the movie with my biology class. It was a very touching movie and I realized what some families have to go through. I commend the family for ffighting back against the doctors and finding a cure. My second cousin was just recently diagnosed with ALD and seeing this movie helped me prepare what to expect.
Neha Awasthi | 9:14 a.m. April 13, 1999
We watched the movie in our Life Science class. The movie
was very good. It showed that Mr. and Mrs. Odone loved
Lorenzo and with their love, he was getting better. I
noticed that Michalla didn't go to work at all because she
had to stay with Lorenzo 24 hrs. a day. When I was watching
the movie, I started to cry.
Jeannie | 8:21 p.m. April 15, 1999
I recently watched the movie and couldn't get enough of it. I watched it, and rewatched it and watched it again. I learned more each time, saw more, and felt more. Since I've seen the movie I just cant get enough of it. I want to know everything. I recently called a hotline ((1-800-869-3546)) that gives information about Lorenzo, and his condition. Altho the secritary seemed rather...disturmed that "another teen" was calling, I think that its great that so many teens are getting into this horrible disease. I want to thank all the people that took part in this movie for bringing out the trouth, and the suffering that all involved took part in. And also the joy to see their hard work pay off. Right now I'm researching, and trying to put together a group for teen's that helps raise money, visit, and just learn more about the disease. Its's TFL ((Teens For Lorenzo)) and I hope that I can someday put forth effort into creating a more enjoyable world for those sufforing. If you would like info, or supply it, please email me. SugaDayzee@aol.com. Thank you and if anyone in the production of the movie stops by this site, please take the gratitude of me and all the other teens affected deaply by this movie. Love Always, *Jeannie*
Sarah | 9:46 a.m. April 17, 1999
We watched this movie in school, to learn about genetic diseases, and while I did learn lot's about it, I also got emotionally involved with Lorenzo's pain, his fathers determination, and his mothers passion. I'm a very reserved person, yet I started to cry in front of everybody. It wasn't a big deal though, because when I looked around, all of the other girls were crying too. Lorenzo's Oil is the best movie I have seen in a long time. I wish there was a web page where I could see how Lorenzo is doing. If you read this and know how to find out about Lorenzo, E-mail me at DRS2PLAY@AOL.COM. Thanks!

Well, this movie makes me think about the power of love
from the parents for their children. The Family Odone's
fight is an example for all familly who desist in the
begining of the way.
In the movie's final we could see the Lorenzo's progress
and some informations about The Mielyn Project. And now?
How is Lorenzo? What about this project? How can I know
about this?
Colin | 10:08 p.m. Nov. 29, 1999
I was very inspired by the relentless struggle the Odone's
went through to save Lorenzo. I am looking for more
information on his condition. If anyone can help, please
contact me. Again, I would like to say this film has had a
lasting impression on my life as well.
lori | 8:05 a.m. Dec. 26, 1999
I don't think I can find enough words to describe how hard
the movie hit me. My mom is into homeopathy, and I have
often been skeptical of it, and critical of her for going
against modern medicine. The Odone's crusade has taught me
not to shun modern medicine, nor to embrace alternative
forms, but to be open - to question, and to search, and
to try to understand for myself.
Saki | 11:03 p.m. Jan. 1, 2000
This movie was very good...but it also made me very, very
sad. I can't help but pray that Lorenzo is doing fine now.

To miss out on life like that isn't fair, but his parents
have been very strong for him and I hope that in due
time, the cure for diseases such as this will be fully
discovered.

All is not lost and Lorenzo and his family have my full
support...from across the globe.
Jack Penuto | 6:56 p.m. Jan. 3, 2000
I thought this was a really good movie because it touches
people and teaches them to learn the value of life. I also
hope that Lorenzo's family is doing very well. I only gave
the movie three stars because I think it did not do the
family justice. Their suffering is incomparable to how the
movie portrays it.
Soo & Lolo | 3:03 p.m. Jan. 17, 2000
Bonjour,
We saw this movie by pure chance tonight on cable TV. We
were really impressed and touched by it (We can't find
words
at the moment to match our feelings). The film really well
depainted the feelings of all the people around that kind
of
genetic disease. We hope to find out if Lorenzo goes well.
And we hope the myelite project will succeed not only for
Lorenzo but also for all the people dealing with it. We
both
pray for him and all the families.
Never ever give up !
fuad ali | 7:18 a.m. Jan. 24, 2000
A great film of an almost unbelivable story of the human
spirit. The endevars of lorenzo's parents is an insperation
to us all. Just like averybody i would dearly love to know
how lorenzo is doing now (please email me with the latest
updates). But whatever happens, lorenzo's life would never
be invain, thanks to him and all the people who cared for
him.
Witske | 8:31 a.m. Jan. 24, 2000
I think this film made us think about life very differently.
I have a brother with a kidney disease and I can't imagine
life without him. So I'm very greatful to Lorenzo's family
for putting up a fight for his life. Because evereybody is
precious enough to fight for. And I think this movie shows
us it's never a waste of time and life to stop fighting.
Because I read on the Lorenzo's webpage that he's doing
great. He's got his eyesight back and he's trying to speak
and comunicate. He's 18 years old now and he's enjoying life
as it comes.
I think this story must mean something to all of us.
It touched my Heart!
I like to thank Lorenzo's prents for putting up the fight
and not letting him waste away. I think everybody should
have parents like that.
Thank you on behalve of all of us.
Keri Thompson | 2:12 p.m. Jan. 30, 2000
All I can say is that I truly loved this movie. My mom and
I
both cried and rejoiced right along with the actors. I can
only imagine the true feelings of the Odones after they
finally found a way to save their son's life.
Congratulations,
and PLEASE send me information about how Lorenzo's
doing right now. Thank you very much!!
Keri : )

On a scale of 0 to 4 Stars, this movie deserves 5 Stars.
And on the same scale, the Lorenzo family deserve 100,000
Stars. I am in love with their human spirit. Like the
Book
of Job in the Bible, the story of their sufferings were
great and their fortitude superlative. Would someone
provide me with an update on Lorenzo, please? This is one
of those stories that, gratefully, does not end...it only
continues. And I pray to God it will continue for a long,
long time. God Bless

Last Saturday I watched Lorenzo's Oil and I was extremely
moved. The Odone's story is one of absolute courage, love
and perserverance. I wish them every hope for the future
and pray for success in the mylein project. Ever since
elementary school I have wanted to enter the medical field
and now more than ever I am striving towards that goal as a
result of this film. Perhaps if I am lucky I can assist in
the struggle against such diseases as ALD. As everyone
else,
I am wondering how Lorenzo is doing. Certain sources I have
read state different things and give different ages. If
anyone knows anything of interest with regard to
Lorenzo's situation, the Odones, the mylein project or
research concerning ALD could they please e-mail me at
buffy_mc@hotmail.com or at buffy_mc@hotmail.ca.(I just
recently got the address so I can't quite remember it.)
That would be very much appreciated.
Thanks Again.

I have seen Lorenzo's Oil several times. Each time it
brings me to tears. It is a wonderful reminder for me to
thank God each day that my 3 children are healthy.I, too,
am interested in learning more about Lorenzo as he is now.
Please email me if you have any definite information.
Thanks.

This film is absolutely great and Ive seen it several
times
over the last years. I admire Lorenzos parents for their
strength and all their efforts to fight against this
desease.
I was wondering if Lorenzos still alive - and Im glad
that
I found the answer here.
If someone knows anything about hows hes doing today
please let me know.

I loved this movie although it was hard to handle at
times. It touched me and I was wondering if anyone had any
update on Lorenzo's present condition. If you do, please
email me. Thank you. =)

AWESOME! I wonder why the kid who played Lorenzo , didn't
get an oscar for his performance? If I didn't know any
better , I'd say he really had ALD. It's great that the
parents didn't give up on their son. Where can I find a
website or page about how Lorenzo's condition recently?
heather feldmann | 10:57 a.m. March 8, 2000
I feel the movie is so good! i would like to know more on
what happened to Lorenzo, i have been looking for a web
site
on his most recently condition, but have not found one yet.
I hope he is doing good and that you will post his

I love this movie. It was flimed on my street and I was in
it as well. We just watched it in biology because we just
finished learning about genetic disorders. I need to find
information on Lorenzo Adone for extra credit. if anyone
can help, please email me. Thanx!

I recently watched this movie again since it was first
released back in 1992. I am still amazed at not only this
boy's strength, but of his parents strong will and amazing
intelligence. And I, like everyone else, am wondering about
Lorenzo's condition today. Please email me if you have
information.
Kimmy | 7:12 p.m. April 25, 2000
I thought the movie was very good, but sad. I just finished
watching it in biology today. I really need to find some
more information on the Myelin (not sure how to spell that)
Project because they said if it works on humans with ALD it
could work on humans with Multiply Sclerosis, which is what
my mom has. And if it works I want to know in hopes that my
mom could be on a trial for it in hopes she'll get better.
if you know of any info. just e-mail me, please.
Kristin and Anna | 8:26 a.m. April 28, 2000
I thought that the movie was great. If anyone

I watched this movie in my chemistry class and it really
got to me. It was wonderful to see how people with out
medical degrees can teach themselves enough about an
unknown disease to save the live of a loved one. This
movie brought tears to my eyes and inspired me to question
the absolute authority of doctors. Doctors are only human-
they can make mistakes.
