I think that the new Lord of the Flies was terrific! I
also
think Chris Furrh did an outstanding job as Jack! He
really
brought the character to life!

I have to say that Lord of The Flies was a great learning
experience for me(I'm talking about seeing the movie!) But,
most of all, the actors were magnificent. Especially Chris
Furrh and Balthazar Getty. Keep it up, guys. Much love(to
you guys especially), Lisa

I thought Lord of the Flies (1990) was an excellent
adaptation of the novel.Getty was a great Ralph, and Furrh
was exceedingly creepy as Jack. All fans of the book should
see this movie!

I loved the movie and the book! I just kept in mind it was
a
more 90's type movie with more 90's type boys!!!!!

The movie was pretty good but I didn't think it did the
book justice. They skipped a bunch of parts and added lots
of un-needed stuff in. If you have read the book you would
understand what I'm saying Simon's importance wasn't
stressed enough but Balthazar did and excelent job as Ralph
and Chris Furrh is good at being bad. It would have been a
good movie if I haden't read the book first. So this 15
year old gives it 2 stars

Balthazar Getty is soooo hot!

I think Lord of the flies is a greart movie, but I think
the book is better. I mean, I read the book first, and I
really enjoyed it (if it's the right word...) I think it
such a powerfull book. The movie was also great. The 3 main
actors- Balthazar Getty (Ralph), Chris Furrh (Jack) and
Badgett Dale (Simon) are great actors. And Balth is so fits
for Ralph's rule.
But I think that the thing that's wrong in the movie is
that lots of important parts from the book weren't in the
movie, like Lord of the flies who talks to Simon in the
cave... things like that.
But it was a really powerfull movie- like the book,
who is one of the best books I've ever read.

I got to watch this movie at school. I imagine every kid
wants to one day view a movie with an explicit amount of
cursing, violence, and bad acting in school, but shouldn't
it be at least a little bit fun? I thought the book was a
masterpiece, with the lines, "Honey colored sunlight seeped
through the trees," ect. But unfortunately, it would take a
huge amount of talent to pull a movie of it off, which is
what this entire movie lacks. The acting is obviously dull,
and inexperienced. I for one know there are, and were in
1990, many talented child actors who could have made this
movie a huge success. But only if the script would have
stayed true to the book. The children were English, which I
believe would have given the movie a more reasonable amount
of irony, considering the little boys were supposed to be
so well bread, prim and proper. I am not being racist
against the American cast, for I myself am very much
American, but this movie is just crying out for a new cast.
Another flub up is the fact that the script allowed the
pilot to be alive. Now what is the point of that? For him
to lay around, moaning and groaning, without any character
at all? What a waste. Without comparison to the book, this
film is still ridiculous, poorly crafted, poorly acted, and
poorly scripted. I must be fair and admit that the location
in which it was filmed was gorgeous. I loved the way the
waves were just this lush blue, and crashed along the
shore. That allowed me to pretend I was watching another
movie. The music is exquisite as well. Too bad absolutely
nothing else is.

primero vi la pelicula i m parecio maravillosa i luego lei
el libro i pense q a la peli le faltaban cosas importantes
i q le tendrian q aver sido mas fieles al libro peroaun asi
sigue siendo 1 d mis pelis favoritas ....los actores son
escelentes a pesar d su corta edad : Badgett Dale es
alucinante i encarna favulosamente a Simon ,Chris Furrh es
alucinante i consige dar miedo como hace Jack y Balthazar

i had to read the book and watch both movies at school as
part of my english media coursework to be submitted for my
gcse. overall i think it is a great story with a ery
interesting plot...but harry hook completely lost the plot
by adding a lot of swearing and that. He made it
completely modern and i think that it would have been
better to keep it as close to the novel as possible...but
dont get me wrong...harry hook done a great job and i
prefer his version to peter brooks but he should have
never gone that far...but thats just my opinion! x

Saw this movie for the first time tonight and I thought it was really good. It's been 30 yrs since I read the book so I can't comment on the details, but I do recall the basic storyline & characters, as well as the overall feel and I think the actors and the director conveyed these well. Both Getty & Furrh did excellent jobs, to my mind Furrh especially shined. Filmed on location in Jamacia, the scenery was amazing!
The reason I watched the film tonight was that today I met Chris Furrh (a stage name he no longer uses), and he spent seven hours hanging out with me and my three grown kids - my son had known him for a couple of years. He is a highly gifted, intelligent man with an amazing amount of energy; constantly searching for new ideas, philosophies and information. He played my daughter's bass and sang us one of the songs he wrote, a sort of poliitical commentary with a Chili Peppers gets grunge feel - too cool! It'sis a shame he went the way of so many child actors, getting into drugs and trouble because of having too much money and freedom too young. I didn't even find out he'd been an actor until not long before he left so I didn't get a chance to find out what happened to his carrerr. Maybe he just grew up, that ends the career of most child actors. Whatever the reason he stopped acting, it's movie-goers' loss because I think he might have been great if he'd kept it up! Instead, as it is, today I met him at the parole office; he'd just gotten out of prison.

I thought the movie was very well put together and Chris did a great job. I went to school with him when I was younger and graduated with his cousin. I hate to hear he made some bad choices in life but hopefully he is on the right path now. If you see him or your son see's him, tell him I said Hi, if he remembers me. I haven't seen him since 5th or 6th grade.

I Am Absolutely In LOVE with Chris Furrh.Esspecially when i saw him play such a psycotic role.I don't know, It was like when I first saw him, something inside me moved.Like an angel spreading her wings for the very 1st time. But now that I found out that he's got a wife,"wow".I feel even more like somethings missing.Oh well too bad.But hey,If it don't work out with ur wife, I'll date you.

This movie was awesome! I liked the Military concept of it and the young boys (at the time) did a great job! Especially Chris; he was very dynamic in his role as Jack. Balthazar did well as Ralph, and it's good to see him on Brothers and Sisters. I wish them all the best.

Now, just so you all know, that January 13th post was not the same Chris in the movie. I checked on MySpace and the former actor is not married. He still resides in Texas and he's doing his own music and stuff. No longer acting, but he's doing fine (no need to worry). :)

As for the other "Chris" (on Facebook), that post he wrote was a hoax so be very careful.
