Zhang Yimou did it a second time, with another very
excellent character drama about 20's China. The film was
unjustly barred from being screened there when it first
came out, and it's real pity that, at least then, those
Commies were unwilling to take any criticism for how their
society was so oppressive of women. Hopefully nowadays
they're more willing to accept criticism, and Iran
certainly is now that the Circle has been produced. I was
so pleased as to how our heroine here eventually stood up
to that horrible and selfish cretin, telling him
that, "we'll keep working for you so you can see just how
happy we are." Sadly, that happiness doesn't last for long.
This too is another very good work from Yimou, and I'm
pleased that it got some awards.

i hated it, it was boring and very predictable.
