make a part two to this movie and at the end of the first
one, they should have it where 20 years later,Redd Foxx and
Richard Pryor have passed away and Eddie Murphy, along with
Della Reese and also with the woman who played Sugar Ray`s
wife, has now gotten out of the nightclub business and now
his son, played by Martin Lawrence, wants to take over the
family business with Eddie Griffin,Kid`Play from the House
Party movies and along with other favorite black cast
this movie. Granted, I'm not a huge Eddie Murphy fan. In
fact, I really can't stand the guy on or off the screen.
But this is one of the most hilarious movies I have ever
seen in my life -- mainly thanks to the supporting cast
such as the incomparable Della Reese in such an outlandish
role as well as Redd Foxx. It is vulgar, yes. It is
crude, sure. But Touched by an Angel it is not -- and
that's what makes it so funny. For instance, to see Della
out of her typecast "Angel" role playing a madame and
beating the pulp out of Murphy in a back alley brawl is so
out of character, you are glued to the screen wanting
more. I'm not in favor of a sequel -- why ruin it like
Nutty Professor II did to its preecessor. So movie
critics ... lighten up and look at the movie for what it
is, not for what Eddie Murphy made of it.
