Honestly, I don't know where the original reviewer is
coming from on this one. I found this movie to be extremely
enjoyable, and profoundly touching. The struggle that Nolte
faces as he goes from a King with no worries, to one whom
must again enter the world, who must again take
responsibilty is portraid rather wonderfully. Yes, the
movie has its fair share of action, but the underlying tone
to the movie is the "growing up" that both Nolte and Hagers
must do, what they must sacrifice, and what they won't. I
highly recommend this one. And I suggest the staff look at
this one more time, and next time try spout off the same
old tired lines of "but this pales next to 'these' great
classic".

I think that Farewell to the King is a testement to every
war vetren in WWII. I think that the powerful message that
it displays is very influential. Nigel Havers played his
part beautifully.
