Anything about the Doors is bound to be remarkable.
The four musicians are so incredible together. Their
recent music seems almost as dead as Morrison's body but
the movie managed to bring it all back to life once again.
Without such reminiscent pieces today's young would have no
clue about the great stuff, the true music, from the good
old days. This movie is a definite must-see for anyone
interested in the Doors, or any music of that period or
even in the period itself. Incredible insights to their
lives, especially Morrison's, are wonderfully provided
throughout the entire movie. His personality and thoughts
are prevelant in every scene. Kilmer plays him superbly.
This is one more of the several pieces of priceless and
timeless Doors memorabilia. Go see it!!!!!

I think that it is a good movie to watch if you don't know
alot about the Doors. Oliver Stone only references the bad
side of Jim though and he never focuses on the charisma he
had or his poetry all he portrayed was the drunk hard to
handle Jim and that is not fair to his memory. Jim was more
than a just a drunk. I would take this movie with a grain
of salt and know that there is more to this beautiful man
and band than just drugs and alcohol.

Obviously, a lot of you missed the point on this one. If
you consider some of Jim Morrison's poetry "mindless
babbling" then you either don't understand poetry or you
don't understand Jim Morrison, or both. This movie may
have spoken of excesses, however a movie about the 60's,
let alone Jim Morrison, could never have been made without
addressing excess. I believe Oliver Stone made a gem of a
movie, once again bringing us closer than we might like at
times to the real truth. Val Kilmer could not have given a
better performance. Jim Morrison was alive and well for
those 2-1/2 hours. Hats off to Stone and Kilmer
