Well with all the so called teen "drama" horrors out there.
Such as Scream & I Know What You Did Last Summer
Brainscan offers a refeshing if not new twist too the horror
genre. Edward Furlong's character is a identifiable teen.
Not some buff jock or wannabe popular chick like in afore
mentioned movies. His performance of latch-key kid "Michale
Brower" is outstanding. Granted T. Ryder Smith's character
looks like a Sammi Curr Wannabe "TRICK OR TREAT" but his
nail bitting growl and a few comical spurts of dialouge keep
the movie fresh at all times. Where as other movies such as
"Arcade" & "Ghost In The Machine" tended to start big and
fail to deliver a big finish. Brainscan does more then
deliver. It pins the audience to the seat and dares them to
try to get away. With a original storyline and a totaly
rocking soundtrack this film will be in the "watchables"
pile for a long, long time.

A teenage boy (Edward Furlong) who is desperate to find the ultimate horror exprience. He recieves a video game (Brainscan) and he assumes it is justlike the rest. What he finds out isn't pretty. He goes in the game and kills people as a serial killer would. He then finds out the game is too real, people are really being killed by him in the real world. He is confronted by a man who s the video game leader. He gives him clues on what to do, how to kill, what clues are left behind, and most of all who are the witesses. He starts killing off the people who are most precious to hi only because they become witnesses. I my opinion this movie is awesome. It is action packed. It surprises you at the end. Who doesn't like a big surprise at the end to top a cool horror movie off. This movie had me staying up until 3:00 a.m. just to see it. Overall it is a must see movie!

This movie is fantastic. This game will must existed.
Eddie is sensational. I love horror movie, and this movie
is fantastic but, it was not a real horror because the blood
is not present and the body member is not present in
this movie...I love when Eddie (Michael) cut the foot of
the man! It was a biggest art and this idea is original and
magnific. I'm angry than a person said that the horror movie is not essential to the community and the world. The horror movie is essential for a fans and this is a art!

Brainscan is by far Eddie's best movie. It was a big
surprise at the end to find out it was, after all, a game.

I loved it, and could watch it for hours on end.

i think it was a great movie this might seem a little late
being that that the movie is five years old but anyway it
is stil five years later better than most of the junk
hollywood is turning out these days and pasing it off as a
thriller or a horror movie i think some of those hollywood
big wigs should go talk to john carpenter or tom savini now
those guys know how to make a horror movie p.s. does
anyone know what t rider smith looks like without the
makeup.

I saw the movie last night and I enjoyed watching it.
The cool Edward Furlong gave a magnificent performance away
and with this movie he has ranked himself as one of my
favorit actors. I think this is a "small" but good and
intense
movie.

I loved Brainscan. It is one of my fav movies right now. I
first saw it in 1997 with one of my friends. Eddie Furlong
has been my favorite actor since I saw that movie. other
movie I have seen with him in it are: Terminator 2, Before
and After, Pet Cemetary 2,and a Home of Our Own. But
Brainscna remains my favorite.

Brainscan was highly underrated. It is very much a genre
film, and tries to be nothing other than all the while
taking that genre to places any other movie since has not
attempted to go from fears of replicating the poor box
office sales that brainscan held (it was out for a good 6
days until it was removed from all local theatres from
where I lived). T Ryder Smith gave an EXCELLENT performance
as "trickster" although I have been trying to find other
films with him in it, it seems impossible. He was featured
as "detective mathers" in a law and order episode
titled 'cruel and unusual' ..if anyone has ANY other info
on this actor, email me at the above address...

In my personnal opinion Branscan was and still is one of
the better movies out there that depicts a teenages life
and a horror movie/ vidio game ora all through out the
movie.and it deserves at lest 9 start (it would have got 10
but the girls in the windo turn before u can really get to
know all of her.)

amy hargeaves and frank langella were very good. the only
negative is they should have added 15 minutes to the film
to develop the characters more. would love to email amy
hargeaves if anyone can help. horror rules. would love to
see brainscan 2 with michael and kimberly in college.make

I thought it was an excellent movie and was given a lot
less credit than it deserved. Maybe for the older more
mature viewers it wasnt all that infatuating, but i believe
that the younger teen viewers really would get a kick out
of it and also relate to it in certain aspects. All in all
I think it was kickass.
