I'm sorry to say this, but I found this film very tedious,
as did Roger Ebert when he reviewed it. One problem is that
it wasn't very faithful to it's comic book roots. Another
was Kim Basinger's peformance(and I can't say that I liked
hearing her shriek either). And when Alfred led her to
Batcave so she could discover Batman's secret identity as
Bruce Wayne, she didn't even react! That won't bother other
purists of course, who've dismissed thefilm just as well.
It's been a decade since the film was released and so now I
guess would be the time to ask, what was all the fuss about
back then and was it really that neccassary?

I think that all the Batman novies was great because I such
a Batman fan and also that in the next movie Mel Gibson
sould not be Batman because he does not make he good. I
think that Val Kilmor, or George Clooney should play Batman
again.

The first Batman was the best. Jack Nickholson was superb
as the joker. Micheal Keaton played the role of Batman with
a chilling mysterious persona. I Recommend it the pic to
everyone!

Saw this picture in my early teens, loved it! Jack
Nicholson is so kreepy, funny & sick as the joker. I still
think Micheal Keaton makes the best Batman in the entire
series, he portrays feelings of inner turmoil very well.
The first Batman (this one) is still the best of em all.

A very good adaptation of the DC comics adventures of the
The Caped Crusader and The Joker, telling us their
origins. Michael Keaton is excellent as Bruce
Wayne/Batman and Jack Nicholson is superb as Batman's
nemesis, but it's Michael Gough who steals the show as
Bruce's capable, low-key butler, Alfred.
