I absolutely adore this movie. Sure, it's lightweight, but
Jimmy's change of attitude as he truly matures is to be
admired. I especially like the coming of age ritual. It's
so moving when he casts his 1981 Championship ring over the
mountain top. I encourage everyone to watch this movie.
I'm an Air Up There junkie. :-)

I personally found this movie to be very amusing and
exceptionally funny! Kevin Bacon was brilliant and appealed
to open-minded individuals. It was a great movie even if
you over-looked all the "moral" debating surrounding it.
Charles acted well, as did the rest of the cast, and the
language and "cultural/traditional" humour was really close-
to-home for me becuase I live next door to Mozambique,
which is where it was filmed.

Even today, I still cannot get enough of this movie or Charles Gitonga Maina. I adore him to no end. I wish I could meet him. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to locate him. If anyone knows how to, please contact me. Everyone's acting was great, there was a lot of comedy, with just the correct amount of seriousness. And I love being able to see some of the culture, that was so wonderful, and so was the music! I own this movie and I watch it all the time. I wish there could have been a part two.
