I admire Derek for putting his family first.

You all have seen my posts on here about this situation and no one has been able to come back with anything to differ from what I have blogged.
With that one guy said Fisher does not owe us (the fans) anything. That is true but don't act surprised when you are booed for actions that were more than deceiving and have not been willing to answer the tough questions. If he is not willing to answer the tough questions it looks like you have something to hide and it makes your action look even more guilty.
Derek knows why he is booed he is just using it to motivate the Lakers. He does not want to tell the truth because he knows he loses the respect of current team members as well as Ex team members.

I will not be booing him but you will never convince me he left for reasons he said he left.

Well - I think I can say for all of us that we're thrilled that you will never be convinced. I was worriede for a moment that you might waver.

You clearly have no idea what it's like to have a child with cancer. Are you even a parent? Well I am and I can tell you that when something terrible happens to your kids you want to make sure they are in the safest and most comfortable environment available which means with family and friends. Well, Fisher lived in LA for years and has family and frienrds there.

So what if he currently sees drs in NY - he also has consultations with drs in LA. You don't read that in the Deseret News because they don't report it like they do in the LATimes - (check it out if you need to).

As for lying . . . refer to earlier posts about Boozer promising the Cavs to resign just to get out of his restricted FA status and then signing with the Jazz for more money. I'll bet that didn't even show up as a blip on your moral integrity radar.

Why is it so hard that for you guys to let it go? Fish is a good player but is he a gamechanger? No! So why have all this hate towards him? Who cares. Are you not happy with the current team? YOu guy are idiots.

CONTINUE TO BOO D. FISH?

Surely you don't want the entire basketball world will see your fans completely embarrass themselves by disrespecting one of the NBA's classiest ambassadors..

More incentive? You know #24 will take this as a personal attack to his teammate. Fish is Kobe's mentor and friend. There's nothing more dangerous than KB24 when he's on a mission. This series will be tough enough without adding another gas can in the fire!

Even as a Laker fan, I have to admit that win or lose, your coach, your city and your team represent class, pride, and winning the right way. Surely you don't want to look like Philly fans on national TV ??

Oh yea.. Fisher leaving HELPED YOUR TEAM!! (salary cap, minutes for Brewer, ect.)

The last time you reacted this way to D. Fish, you found yourself in a 20-point 1st-quarter hole before your pretzels even cooled off!

Lighten up on the venom, people..

Or maybe you can just hope that Kobe drops that brand new NBA MVP trophy on his toe and that slows him down. (Goodness knows Andrei Kirilenko (fouled out), Ronnie Brewer (5 fouls) and Kyle Korver 5 fouls) couldn't do it!

RE:ID Jazz 11:28

I am a parent. My kids have had injuries and not cancer but if they did I can sure tell you with no doubt that I am telling my employer and friends where I am going and why I am going there.

Don't show your level of education either. A consult is not treating her its just another Dr.s opinion. Her main Dr. is in New York so why would you not move there? If it was my child I would move as close to her treatment as possible. I wouldn't move farther away.(GENIUS)Her treatment in in New York, so you move to LA. That makes sense how?(pleeeaaassse)

As far as Boozer goes nice assumption as what I believe or think. Do I agree with what Boozer did? NO but I also think that is between him and Cleveland and there fans and every time he steps on there floor he gets booed every time and I have not heard him act surprised or hurt about it yet.

You can tell from your post your a bandwagon believer does not matter if its right or wrong as long as it fits your world.

re: ID Jazz | 1:52 p.m. May 7, 2008
If you plan to talk about something you know NOTHING about then notify us up front so we can skip the post.

Do some actual research from credible papers and you'll see that Fisher has primary treatment in NY but has a regular consulting physician in LA who works with the NY physicians. The reason the NY physician is currently taking care of the primary care is due to facilities that neither LA or SLC had. However, LA and NY had the top experts available for the specific condition his daughter has. So- moving to LA took care of 2 things. Putting Fisher's daughter closer to the REGULAR consulting physician for emergencies as well as their family/friends. The extra 2 hrs from LA doesn't outweigh the benefits.

As for Boozer you're a hypocrit. You said Boozer's betrayal was between him and the Cavs -not a concern to you then you accuse me of caring about things only if they fit my world.

Also, no Bandwagon here. I'm a lifelong Lakers fan and actually lived in Provo when the Jazz swept the Lakers so I've heard it all. The Jazz are good, Sloan is good - but they're no Lakers.
ID Jazz | 7:06 p.m. May 7, 2008

Try to use your education here to make sense if you have one. He said he needed to move close to a facility and Dr. that could treat her. By your own omission LA does not have a facility nor was it stated by him as a possibility for care there.

The point is that he said and lead Jazz Fans and the owner to believe that his only options were to move near facilities and Dr.s for treatment that were all back east. So to be in negotiations with the Lakers three days later and signed eleven days later contradicts himself and is shady at best.
Everything you want argue about is the benefits of being in LA and thats fine I have no problem with those benefits for him and his family. If that is what he needed then why not state those reasons and announce you are going to LA for those reasons.

Its also funny that you can't agree or see that he did the same thing as Boozer.

Again you want to argue because you think he is a good father, husband, and man. But you ignore the facts every post.
re: ID Jazz | 9:15 a.m. May 8, 2008
I'm glad you admit the point that this was the best move for his family which is what LHM and KOC had in mind when they released him from the contract.

But your point about the care facilities is still WAY off. According the NY Times, LA Times and even Sports Center, the facilities in NY are for the initial stage of the treatment, the facilities in LA work for the later stages of treatment. So, as treatment progresses you'll see more of the care back in LA. For the time being, there are experts and specialized care services in LA that Utah couldn't offer....Apparently the prestigious Deseret News didn't report that. If you watch or read any news from a network that has national reach you'll be bit better informed.

As for Boozer- they didn't anything the same. Fisher exited his contract to care for his daughter who has a TUMOR IN HER EYE. LHM, KOC and the fans knew fisher was leaving for less money. Boozer exited his contract to get $27MM more from the Jazz after promising to stay for another 6 years.

I haven't ignored any facts from your posts...there aren't any.

I love Derek Fisher and felt so embarrassed at the booing of him, and so sorry for what his family was going through. He is a wonderful man and father and I admire him so much, and especially his lack of bitterness against some of the Jazz fans. I do hope he knew we didn't all feel that way.
Shporq | 1:30 p.m. May 9, 2008
I for one couldn't be happier that Fisher left. He was overpriced, especially for a backup up PG, and rarely added anything significant on the court.

The fact that he signed with LA less than 3 weeks after his contract was up is definitely suspect. I don't blame the Jazz fans for being upset about what they perceive as an underhanded move against their team.

True, Fisher took a pay cut to play in LA, but he's a starter there. Most competitive players would prefer a slightly lower salary for more minutes.

As for the booing, I don't agree with it, as my preference would be to cheer the fact that he is no longer in a Jazz jersey.
