I can't even explain why I'm so caught up in everything that has to do with David Archuleta.
He is simply phenominal. David...you ROCK! Well, in a balady, soulful sort of way. Thanks for writing this positive article!
Michelle | 1:18 p.m. May 6, 2008
I love David Archuleta. I am glad people are doing good things for him. He's a good rolemodel for our youth and I will let my children look up to him anyday!

It is so amazing how Our Heavenly Father can reach the hearts of His children....What better way than in a show that is watched by millions of people around the world..David is a winner already for His love and willingness to help people with his talents....We all have been giving talents, the oportunity to choose,I am so glad David is doing what he loves and with his example of humility, his dream of making people feel good about themselves is going to motivate others to do the same,to use their talents to make this world a better place,no matter who we are, where we live....Thank you David and the others contestants...With prayers my wishes for the blessings of wisdom..and peace in your future.

This article made me cry. I too am touched by David's pure talent and goodness. Although I know he's not perfect, he gives me hope for our future generation and encourage me to raise good children who will have the courage to make the right decisions in their lives. David also inspired me to pay attention to the music and message of the music I listen to. I agree with the previous comment that we should not place him in too high of a pedestal but appreciate him for what he is and the message he's trying to send us.

I feel blessed to hear David every week. I have never watched American Idol regularly, I never had a favorite contestant like David. Honestly, I think he is a gift from God, and he is meant to do great things in his life. Whether he wins American idol or not, I am behind him 100% because of his amazing talent and heart. The book is only a small example of the lives he has changed and made better. God Bless.

i m so pleased with the fact that true talent is appreciated by ppl and the true talent is .................DAVID ARCHULETA!!!
He's For Real | 2:49 p.m. May 6, 2008
At first it is hard to believe that a young man that is so gifted can be that humble about his talents and his impact on others. David does not have an unkind bone in his body, and sometimes this meekness and goodness is misconstrued as "unmanly" or contrived. David cares about other people, he cares about people's feelings, he cares about music. He is a great example of a good kid, with the right intentions, with the right attitude, and a talent that seems limitless. He just so happens to be sharing these qualities in front of millions of viewers; many who appreciate what they are learning about him, and some, I think a relative few, who are jaded by our popular media. He's for real. For those who know him personally, and for millions who feel like they know him through his musical talent, we all hope that Hollywood and the music and media industry do not corrupt such a good kid. Here's a kid who doesn't like it when he gets all the attention and the others with him, whether friends or siblings, get left out. If you knew him, you'd love him that much more!

I would like to see what David is really made of. he has an incredible voice but I think that at this point in american i-dull the finalists should have to write and perform their own original songs. Anyone can learn to sing and sing someone else's music but a true muscician can create his own. I think he could do it but it would be interesting to see what these 4 finalists especially david came up with.
Shagira | 3:24 p.m. May 6, 2008
oh pulease! I heard him sing Memory from Cats and I can tell you my sister sings it better! He has a boring voice and it irks me that so many people have to slobber all over him! He might sing from the heart but what good is that if you cant' stand the sound of his voice!? I can't stand his voice! Bleah!!!!!!!
Anti-Non Believer | 3:54 p.m. May 6, 2008
Life is a tuff journey but David eases my burden through life everytime I hear him sing. David is a great blessing to all of us and we should be grateful for such a rare, but tender mercy from above. He makes me look upward, not downward. It is interesting that he is named David because wasn't it the young David who soothed the soul of Saul in the Old Testament?
Richard | 4:27 p.m. May 6, 2008
Shagira-it wasn't David who sang Memory from Cats,it was jason castro and it was a disaster!
Jade | 4:46 p.m. May 6, 2008
David's voice pierces my soul. There is nothing like it. He truly has the voice of an angel. He's very sweet and humble and well deserving of being the American Idol. He has had a profound effect on me and I really hope he wins. Go David!!
jt | 4:52 p.m. May 6, 2008
the only music that gives me spiritual uplift is praise and worship music. i am a born again christian and i feel God through music but David has not done that for me. there is something so gentle and beautiful in jason castros eyes and voice. his eyes always sparkle if you haven't noticed. yes, david is a good example for young people who want to sing but that says nothing about who he really is. odd
Jack | 6:57 p.m. May 6, 2008
He sounds like a 10 year old. Yuck
James | 8:51 p.m. May 6, 2008
Jack, your comment seemed like that of a ten year old!
Joel | 9:14 p.m. May 6, 2008
What I find amazing is that a clean cut, humble, well groomed young man would ever be popular in the entertainment or music industry. It is usually the foul mouthed, the tattooed, the irreverant "artists" that get all the attention. Maybe there is hope for the world yet!
Anonymous | 9:43 p.m. May 6, 2008
I'm happy for David A. He probably won't change. Jordan Sparks is still a very sweet person. David's father seems very nice...you can see it in his eyes. the whole family of Archeletas seem to be very nice people.
Anonymous | 10:26 p.m. May 6, 2008
So true. David gets me through. He is the best part of my week! Smoky Mountain Memories was simply amazing. I love this boy! How can you not? I've read people who are tired of his giggling, but not me. I wish we had more David's out there!
Archu-lemming | 11:17 p.m. May 6, 2008
Hey all you party people. David has also changed my life -- Now I waste precious hours watching Youtube and reading articles about this kid. I think that scientists will find that his voice activates some addiction center of the brain, like those rats that neglected food and water to press a bar to get brain stimulation. But I don't agree that he is like sent from god or something. he's just a good singer who reminds us of how innocent we all used to be!
Music is like a Prayer | 11:46 p.m. May 6, 2008
All my life music has been my therapy, when I was down I would go sing and play the piano. I do not worship David, but his music soothes my soul and I am smiling when I listen to him sing. I do not have claims that he has been a solution to my troubles, such as my daughter not speaking to me for nearly a month and how that tears at my heart. I have moments of joy and moments of anguish, but I am not feeling sad when I listen to David, and he is for real, and I hope he never changes that. I would bet that all of his music will be inspirational in nature, not religious, but music that uplifts, I will be in line.
Archuleta Fan!! :) | 12:11 a.m. May 7, 2008
I have truly enjoyed listening to David sing with his heart every week. He has touched me by just being true to himself and letting that shine through his performances. I can't wait to see what the future hold for him, but whatever it is I know it will be fantastic!

Keep it up David!!! We Love You!!!
jananna | 12:36 a.m. May 7, 2008
I knew from the moment I heard this boy audition, he would be in the finals. I don't care what he sings, he can pull it off to perfection. Everytime I hear him and watch him,the tears just well up in my eyes. He has a God given talent and seems to be such a sincere and humble person. What an enormous example for the youth of today! His parents should be so proud of him! He should win American Idol hands down!! I vote for him every week and you should too. EVERY vote counts!
Angela | 1:37 a.m. May 7, 2008
I do adore you David
I do admire your voice
I do admit that you are the next American Idol.

kathy | 1:39 a.m. May 7, 2008
From the moment I heard this young boy sing, I knew he had something special. His performances week after week have been wonderful. Just by watching this young mans expressions while he is singing tells you he feels the emotion of every word he sings. His humilitary appears to be very genuine I know for me his voice tends to give you a soothing and tranquil feeling. He is so very special. I wish him only the best. I hope he remains true to himself
Ronda | 2:13 a.m. May 7, 2008
I think David Archulata sucks. He sings the same old kind of songs every week and he cannot make a song his own. He has no imagination and should have tried out for American Bandstand because he is 70 culture stuck.
Emma Jane Tanner | 2:56 a.m. May 7, 2008
I am an International fan from Australia..I took part in the "David is my hero" project..It was such an amazing experience..I am soo honoured to be a part of that book..David will be moved to tears once he sits down and actually starts reading these touching stories! It sends shivers down my spine just thinking of David's reaction when he first lays eyes on that book and finds out how many hearts and lives he has actally touched not only in the U.S but World Wide! We seriously need people like David to give us hope and happiness! God Bless You Archie!!
bambi | 7:06 a.m. May 7, 2008
I can't figure out why so many still believe that David's Father is a Stage parent who does nothing but make David feel bad about his songs and such. Where have you people been? David's Father has been lied about and miligned enough. Infact he could sue those who started the rumors. Naomi Judd never met David's parents and David's voice coach said all the stuff being said is false. Look up past articles and read what has been said.
GO DAVID. David inspires me when he sings. I can feel his spirit.
Evelyn | 7:15 a.m. May 7, 2008
The reason I watch AI is because of this years singers especially one Named David A. David reminds me of David and Golith. Little David slew the evil Giant and the comparison is that Little David will slay the Bad in this world too. Its about time that we have a young that stands by his convictions and will not bend to the darker side. When he Sang Imagine and chose the verse he did, was because he didn't want the world not to have a religion like it says in the one verse. It is marvelous to have one so young with so much character and humility. David is the only contestant that has all the negativity things said about him. Does that happen with the others? I don't think so. Don't be counted with that group. Stand up for what you believe in. Endure to the End David Archuletta.
cheryl | 8:46 a.m. May 7, 2008
It is depressing time in the US now.. people losing jobs, homes, the price of gas and food is very upseting. The wars and all the negativity in the world is overwhelming. But when I hear David sing not only is his voice from GOD but the song choices have been very uplifting... I look forward to seeing him and hearing him sing each week... I can't wait for him to win.. but I also don't want it to end beacuse I won't see him or hear him sing each week. He is the best contestant that has ever been on American Idol.. I watch each season, but I was never touched like this by anyone on the show.. I never voted... now I vote for David for the full 2 hours ever week...
The Texan | 9:05 a.m. May 7, 2008
Odd,
If someone is real, every always asks, are you real?
If someone is totally out of it, no one cares to ask.

Go David.
Diane | 9:09 a.m. May 7, 2008
I think all you david worshipers are creepy-he's a seventeen year old kid who has a decent voice, with a domineering Dad who picks his songs for him! Get a life people!

GO David Cook!
jt | 9:29 a.m. May 7, 2008
david did a wonderful job last night but i agree with others that he needs to widen his horizons. his music is very wishy washy. can't sing anything fast and fun. beautiful but kinda boring.
Taria | 1:42 p.m. May 7, 2008
I've always been impressed by David's voice, but last night I was so impressed by his humanity. When Simon was continuing to criticize Jason's performance of I Shot the Sheriff during David's critique, David quietly and politely said, "I liked Jason's song". He's got talent, and he's a genuinely kind person. I hope he has a great career!
Bookaholic | 1:45 p.m. May 7, 2008
I love David's beautiful, soaring, emotive voice! I find it so piercing and moving. There are several songs of his that I am unable to listen to without tearing up or crying. I haven't listened to popular music (talk radio and classical only) for 20+ years. When I heard David sing, I realized I was missing out--big time. Now, I am enjoying music again which is a gift. I love David's music the most, though, and listen to him more than any other.

He is such a wonderful human being that it radiates from him and people all over the world who are receptive are very effected by him and his music. I actually think people are feeling the Spirit when they encounter David. When Paula said, "You have such a beautiful aura about you. You're just glorious!", I turned to my sister and said "Guess what she's feeling--that's the Spirit."

Whatever it is, it's powerful. I love this kid so much I'm practically around the bend. (Joke.) Actually, I am driving up for his homecoming celebration because I want to show my support and hear an angel sing in person--730 miles one way! David is going to be HUGE!!
Another David Archuleta Fan | 4:55 p.m. May 7, 2008
I enjoyed reading this article about David Archuleta. I was pleasantly surprised to learn how Davids music has touched so many people in positive ways.

The idea of presenting a book composed of positive feedback from his fans is brilliant. This is an excellent way of communicating to David our love and appreciation to him in return for the positive impact his music has had on us

Like many of you, I appreciate Davids music and Im eager to buy his CDs. He is an amazing vocalist and he connects well to his audience. He has consistently received great reviews from the judges. He would make an excellent role model. I admire him for his many quality attributes. I believe he deserves to win the American Idol title. I will continue to vote for him. No matter what, David Archuleta is already a WINNER!
Kevin | 5:32 p.m. May 7, 2008
Young David Archuleta reminds me of the story of another young David who once sang to a very troubled king and calmed his heart. When I hear or see David sing, I can't help but feel joy, and calm where I once had angst and worry. I am so glad to have such a wonderful role model for my 2 young girls to follow in the years to come. Go David. Let your light shine.
Ellen | 7:51 p.m. May 7, 2008
Although I don't remember the name of the Australian singer whose song David sang, I loved that performance. I really felt David's calling then would be in Christian music somehow. He would certainly be a refreshing addition to that genre. He has the ability to positively affect the lives of many people with his pure and natural God-given voice. I'm convinced he will become the American Idol and he deserves the title.
Archu-lemmings | 1:39 a.m. May 8, 2008
ew, can you imagine having all these expectations thrust upon you as a teenager? He's not a demi-god, just a good crooner. let's not overstate it.
Anonymous | 2:59 a.m. May 8, 2008
Dear Diane,
FYI: David Cook creeps me out..with his ugly attitude, loud voice, pompous attitude and sheer arrogance! Archie on the other hand is like a breath of fresh air!
edna | 8:24 a.m. May 8, 2008
David Archuleta has the gift of lifting poeples heart thru his voice. His voice touches not only my heart but also my soul. I am 52 years old with 3 grown kids and I have never enjoyed watching American Idol till I saw David sang "heaven" It brought tears to my eyes not because it was sad but It reminds me of how my husband loves me.It made me love my husband even more. God bless you David and thank you so much!
Raul | 11:41 a.m. May 8, 2008
I am so thankful for David's talent and overall being; an amazing person and role model for all. He makes me strive to become a better man.
Archie Fan | 11:51 a.m. May 8, 2008
I love David's singing, he moves me. Hopefully people dont expect David to be perfect or Godlike. He's only a human with a beautiful voice. He has faults and flaws like all of us.
Anonymous | 11:57 a.m. May 8, 2008
David Archuleta has a solid fanbase that has come together in the American Idol forums. We won't let him down. His voice solidifies magic and his heart is full of purity. David Archuleta will be our Next American Idol in 2 weeks.
AE | 12:07 p.m. May 8, 2008
I have watched AI all 7 seasons and have never been this connected or moved by a contestant. I am in my forties, and I have actually never felt this way about any singer, although I am a huge music lover with a wide variety of music/genres in my collection. There is just something so pure and clear about his voice. The fact that he is so humble, and is such a good, sweet kid, gives me hope for the future and keeps me optimistic about our youth. Lastly, being able to watch his journey and see how he handles the pressure and develops as the show goes on (and after the show) is a once in a lifetime experience. And to "CAUTION", I do realize he's just a 17 year old and you are right, I'm sure he will make a mistake here and there. But I truly believe that with his faith and his family, he will learn from his mistakes and I for one will support him all the way through his journey by buying any and all music that he puts out.
TONY FROM MONTREAL CANADA | 12:28 p.m. May 8, 2008

I am apart of this book and I feel so honored. I have never felt so amazingly about a person on this show before David Archuleta. I really hope he wins American Idol because he is the one that really deserves it.
Deanna | 2:08 p.m. May 8, 2008
It is truly amazing how age has no significance in this very special person's purpose. As the judges have said David was born to do this. I totally agree, feeling as moved with every one of his performances as many of the people on this sight have written.
As a 50 year old woman who has had quite a nice life, I am inspired by this 17 year old's heart, humility, and passion. I truly feel after reading the many touching comments that he is HEAVEN SENT! This world we live in today needs more people like David Archuleta to move us past ourselves.. Jeff and Lupe deserve much praise for raising such a wonderful, special young man. David I pray for you to win this contest, because it seems so important to you right now, but just know that you have reached millions, and have just begun your true purpose! Bless you and thank you!
Marianne | 2:39 p.m. May 8, 2008
God bless you, David - and here's to hoping decency, charm and a soaring talent will not only be recognized by AI, but will continue to be deeply appreciated by those who see you perform and are touched by your gift.
DavidisLight | 2:42 p.m. May 8, 2008
David and his marvelous voice are truly a blessing, a gift from God. I can't begin to tell you how he touches my soul, lifts my spirit and elevates my senses. What a special young man! His parents should be very, very proud.
Malkop | 2:50 p.m. May 8, 2008
Wow. It's amazing how much of an influence this precocious prodigy has had on viewers.
