Why did Sloan go small after Boozer and AK fouled out? Where was Milsap? The
pounded us down low at the end.
Also why did sloan sit AK, Memo and Brewer all at once in the first quarter right when momentum was changing in our favor and AK was scoring down low???

The Jazz may have lost the game, but I see no need to push the panic button at
all right now. Despite playing just 38 hours after the houston series and the
Lakers getting almost a week of rest, not to mention being down by as much as
19, we still battled back ON THE ROAD and might have still won it anyway if they
could've gotten a few more stops and shots that sank instead of rattling in
and out. I'm sure everyone will continue to rave on about the Lakers being
so good but don't even underestimate the Jazz for one moment. Utah is still
talented enough to beat the Lakers as long as they consistently play their game
and they lost today because they didn't do that from start to finish. If
any Jazz players are reading this, keep your heads up because I believe in you!
GO JAZZ!! BEAT LA!!!

They just need to hit their shots. Kudos for coming back after 19 down, as it
looked like a blowout.

If LA wins the championship they need to give thanks to Memphis for the gift they gave the Lakers (Gasol).
Do we have to see the celebs so often? Don't we see them enough already? It is annoying seeing people wearing shades indoors or wearing large goofy glasses. Worse are celebrity worshippers.
Go Jazz! For those at the game at ESA please keep the reputation as a loud arena. Yell!

It's been 7 years since I missed a Jazz home playoff game. Let's hope
Energy Solutions Arena will be just as intimidating without all of us

Like I have been saying if you want to win a championship you've got put
together a championship team.
I.E. do it right and make it happen and stop doing like that 60's song wishin and hopin.
If there are not changes (i.e. sloan, boozer, brewer, management, ownership, etc) jazz will continue to be nothing but what they always been:

Whuddabout just playing all 4 quarters? I've seen the Jazz take a rest for
too many 2nd quarters this year.

I saw a new stratagy by Kobe in this game. At the "beginning" of his
drive he uses his free arm to push the defender away, and the referees let him
get away with it of course. If our players tried that it would be called
everytime. It sure makes it hard to defend him when he can push the defender
away. The referees look for the push off at the end of drives, but they seemed
to be blind to it happening at the beginning of the drive. I am so tired of the
MJ super star treatment. If the referees continue to let him get away with
that, no one can have any chance of guarding him.

It's comforting to see so many qualified coaches available if Larry Miller
is ever insane enough to fire Jerry Sloan (as some of you suggest every day.)
But maybe a guy with 20 years experience and more wins than anybody who
isn't already a legend knows a few more things about how the Jazz can win
than you armchair coaches. The Jazz were valiant in coming back from a deep
deficit and only their cold shooting (4 of 19 from 3-point range?) kept them
from winning the game - despite the super-human perfomance of Kobe Bryant. Just
38 hours after blowing out Houton and then traveling to Los Angeles it might be
understandable that they were a bit tired and off their game. Don't panic,
don't complain, just keep the faith. Go Jazz!

Have any of you noticed all the ticky tack fouls for the team and lots of no
calls for the road team. Kobe can't be touched without getting a foul
called on him. I really HATE how superstars and the home team get all the fouls.
Good thing Deron is about a year or two away from getting calls. Go Jazz! Go

Hey jazz fans- Are you guys impressed with our all-star boozer, does this guy
know that we are in the playoffs, i have never seen an all-star play with as
little emotion as this guy does, does he not have any self respect for himself,
how many times is he gonna let somebody beat him for a layup or foul somebody
after they have already put it in the basket, or not run the floor and get back
on defense, or throw the ball away....... What a joke boozer maybe try and be
agressive one time in your life, not to mention letting derek fisher out hustle
him for a loose ball.. very disapointed with your effort all around boozer...

I totally agree with comment about why did Sloan take AK out of the game when he
had just blocked shots and hit jumpers. I was really upset when Sloan did that,
but then again he does that no matter how well AK is playing. And, I personally
think that upsets AK and he never gets back to how well he was playing before he
was taken out of the game. I've always been a Sloan supporter, but totally
disagree with his practice of taking players out based on the time clock.

were down by 36. that just shows how good of D the Jazz play. Foul Kobe, and
boozer and Memo Guard Gasol ELBOW him a little. Ak has Radmanovics number get
the ball to Ak. Brewer played Good D on KOBE, but where is your slashing
offense where you get alot of easy layups c'mon brewer.

as we were starting to get the momentum? You killed it. When Harpring first
reported in hobbling like a sick, half dead old man, you should have taken him

Do you really believe that the Lakers got all of the good calls? Kobe is perhaps
the best in the league at drawing fouls. He head and shoulder fakes until he
gets the opposing player in the air. Or he gets by the first defender and then
the other players need to step in and thats when many of the fouls occur. If you
don't want to foul him then the defensive player has got to avoid the head
fakes and stay between Kobe and the basket. Make Kobe shoot jump shots.

sets a franchise record for free throws attempted in the playoffs. He
practially shot as many as the entire Utah team. I'm not going to complain
because everyone knew this would happen with Kobe getting the benefit of some
very bad calls, but I do think it's a joke.

These 15 point / 12 rebound performances from Boozer are not going to get it
done in the playoffs against a team like LA. Williams had an off night yesterday
but he has definitely stepped up his game in the playoffs and is performing like
a Max player. I thought Boozer was supposed to be the other Max player on this
team, but he has yet to show it. Okur has showed him up big time, and he is
supposed to be the second option behind Boozer. Unless he steps up his game and
starts acting like a real POWER forward the Jazz will be lucky to get six games
out of this series.

Everyone knows that to win on the road in the playoffs you have to steal it, despite the foul disparity. The NBA is that way. The Jazz only need one in Lakerville, though. My question is can the Lakers lose with dignity in Utah when the refs are on the Jazz's side. Doubt it!

It wasn't Sloans fault the team settled for jump shots when they were doing
so well pounding it down low. They would get close and then settle for jump
shots. The needed to be a little more hard-nosed when they got close.

Although no one who gets a paycheck from the Utah Jazz will admit it, that short
38 hrs. really hurt them. I am glad that they don't use it as an excuse,
but you could tell that was the factor on why they lost. They were short on
there shots and lacking an extra spring in there step.
Deron Williams had to be exhausted. After putting the team on his back Friday night in the 3rd quarter and then turn around and play 46 minutes Sunday drained him.
I'm not worried 'cause if we can play like that after all the emotional drain over the weekend, then I think we will fare better than I thought against the Lakers.

I don't know if the Lakers can lose with dignity in Utah though I'm
fairly sure that the LA fans (or at least this one)will act with dignity. Hey I
think that Jazz are a great team and if they beat LA, good for them. If that
happens I will not be blaming the refs or start verbally attacking the Jazz
players. This is going to be a great series. You boys had better win one in LA
or it's off to the golf course.

As a Laker fan, I knew coming in that this series would be tough -- and
yesterday's game proved it! My prediction: someone's gonna win it in 6
-- and it isn't obvious which team will do it! In spite of all the
complaining above, the Jazz played a good game, and can be expected to get
better as the series continues. THIS is basketball!

Five of the Jazz fouls were DELIBERATE fouls to stop the clock with 1:09 left to go in the game or less.
Subtract those deliberate fouls and you get:

Considering the Utah Jazz is an extremely physical team that led the ENTIRE NBA in fouling this season, it is the Lakers fans who should be whining about the reffing, not the Jazz fans.
Even though Jazz are a poor road team, they can win in L.A. because their fans are so laid back, they aren't that much of a factor. In fact, there were a surprising number of people there cheering for the Jazz.

I am not a Sloan basher. I love Sloan as a coach but I can agree with some of
the people above.Mixing up the rotation a little might cause the Lakers havoc
because they are so prepared for the predictable Jazz.Nothing against Matt or
Korver but giving AK and Brewer a couple extra minutes early might confuse the
lakers and a little more rest for Matt and Korver might help them with there
shooting.

It's not all Soan's fault. He coaches great...during the regular season...then forgets how to coach during the playoffs. It's quite an amazing thing to see.
Yeah, it's too bad to see Boolone play so crappy, I mean normal. But, the thing that's really sad to watch is how bad Harpring has gotten this year. The guy can't even make shots or rebound anymore. He's a liability along with Boolone. And, Korver....he played ok yesterday, but wow, slow down and make some shots. He's playing like he's never seen a basketball in his life.

quarters during his interview? He's the biggest joke of a coach anybody
has ever witnessed.

Yet again a bunch of idiot posts about Sloan's substitutions. Those guys
were tired and if he would have left them in they would have had no chance at
the end of the game to make a run then you would have complained why didn't
he rest them at the first of the game. Its a no win situation with some fans.
Who cares if Dwill has an off night out of 8 good ones but right now Boozer might as well put an opposing team jersey on cause he is killing the Jazz. At half he had six turnovers alone and how many jumpers. Get your lazy but inside and do some work. His defense was pathetic as usual.

All in all it wasn't a bad game. The Jazz came off a draining series with
Houston on short notice and their shots fell short. Tired legs = short shots.
Contrary to what many have said I think that Boozer showed some life in this game and was able to score on the interior and take it at Pau. This is a good sign and somehting I think the Jazz can take advantage of. He was finishing and getting the calls, we need more of that from him. I think the Jazz need to go to Booz more and he needs to go to the Paint and take better care of the ball. Both those are doable.
When Memo and AK play like that the Jazz are hard to beat. With fresh legs the jumpers will come closer to there season average and the Jazz win.
As far as the ref's go it's the same old thing. Kobe gets every call and the majority of the Lakers calls are on scoring opps. The Jazz had almost as many calls but not in scoring opportunities. If Kobe doesn't get all of those it's a much different game.

Complain, complain, complain. That is all the Utah fans do. If they are correct,
than you can sympathise with them, but they are so wrong, that it borders on
some of them being a moron. Utah committed one more foul than the Lakers. They
had 5 deliberate fouls to stop the clock. I deducted that from the total. Utah
commits more fouls than any other team in the NBA with their holding and
pushing. Most of you are also blind. You only see the fouls committed by the
other teams, not yours. That does not make you a fan and you don't know
your basketball. All you folks do is whine, whine, and whine some more. Call it
right, and we will listen to you, whine and lie, and every one will laugh at
you.

I fortold two days in advance that Jazz fans would be complaining about the refs
and the fouls. If you want to get fouls how bout driving to the basket on
occasion. If PG doesn't get two very early fouls in the game and has to
come out the Lakers win by a much bigger margin. The Jazz have a lot of heart
and came back strong. It's the fans that are embarassing.

I can't really complain about the foul calls...everyone on earth knows you
are not allowed to guard certain people in the league ie LeBron, Kobe, McGrady,
or the big three for San Antonio...and coming soon Chris Paul...but I am
seriously tired of hearing Phil Jackson on nationl TV complaining that it is
unfair...he did it in Chicago and he's doing it here...he would go
ballistic if they really called them fair. Can we make a deal?...we treat
Fisher respectfully and they never put Phil on TV again? And by the way...why
does HE get away with this blatant disregard for the rules...the league has and
would fine Don Nelson, Pat Riley and several others for making disparaging
remarks about the referees!

Last years Rocky Mountian Review or beating the Lakers in the playoffs NOW? Why are not using our best weapons available in this battle? I like Korver when he's hitting his shots, but when he's not, C.J. should be in the game. He can shoot the lights out when given the chance. Also I don't know why Harpring was even aloud to play yesterday the condition he was in.

Let me show you how it's done.
In spite of shooting %40 from the field, including 4-19 (21%) from 3pt range, and playing a day and 1/2 after playing Houston in a hard fought game and playing a well rested Laker team in LA, the Jazz came back from 19 down (which is especially tough when you can't make a 3) and was only down 6 with less than 2 minutes to play.
If I'm a Laker fan I'm scared, I'm afraid, because in the back of my mind I know that even after three days rest and playing at home facing elimination the Nuggets never made my team fight for every point and every rebound. I'm really scared that when we go back to Utaah and Kobe doesn't shoot 20+ free throws we are going to have some serious trouble keeping up with the Jazz.

I watched the game and have never seen more jersey grabbing by one team. I
guess the Jazz's strategy is to "hang on". Korver and Boozer
were pathetic. Boozer cannot rebound without pushing someone in the back. He
will never be a champion. What about the no-call to end the 3rd??? Harpring
hacked Lamar big time BUT NO CALL! AK-47 spends all of his energy AND FOULS
trying to stop the unstoppable KOBE. Unless the Jazz wake up and start playing
NBA basketball, they will be swept just like the popcorn and trash you Jazz fans
throw on the floor. Jazz fans are an embarassment to Utah and the NBA. Ask
anyone.....the Jazz are a J.V. team.
