Utah Jazz: Cold when it counted Jazz rally thwarted by missed shots down the stretch

Also why did sloan sit AK, Memo and Brewer all at once in the first quarter right when momentum was changing in our favor and AK was scoring down low???
No blame here whatsover to Williams--the contrary. I give him credit for getting the Jazz here. We know good games are ahead.
If LA wins the championship they need to give thanks to Memphis for the gift they gave the Lakers (Gasol).
Do we have to see the celebs so often? Don't we see them enough already? It is annoying seeing people wearing shades indoors or wearing large goofy glasses. Worse are celebrity worshippers.
Go Jazz! For those at the game at ESA please keep the reputation as a loud arena. Yell!
Jazz in 6
Continues to Snooze
The Jazz
Are sure to lose
I.E. do it right and make it happen and stop doing like that 60's song wishin and hopin.
If there are not changes (i.e. sloan, boozer, brewer, management, ownership, etc) jazz will continue to be nothing but what they always been:
playoff chum
rather than playoffs champs.
Please, Jazz, if there is a team that needs, no, begs to be humbled, it is the Fakers. All we ask is 4 wins. Is that too much?
more Milsap
less Booze
more CJ and Brewer
less Korver
Sloan please play CJ and RP a little.
Game 2 104-97 Jazz
By the way, total fouls:
Lakers 27
Jazz 33
Not a huge difference.
And stop your crying.............
Can't you guys ever lose with dignity.
We have to understand that Kobe will get his and stop making excuses. If the Jazz make shots they win that game, bottom line.
Everyone knows that to win on the road in the playoffs you have to steal it, despite the foul disparity. The NBA is that way. The Jazz only need one in Lakerville, though. My question is can the Lakers lose with dignity in Utah when the refs are on the Jazz's side. Doubt it!
Deron Williams had to be exhausted. After putting the team on his back Friday night in the 3rd quarter and then turn around and play 46 minutes Sunday drained him.
I'm not worried 'cause if we can play like that after all the emotional drain over the weekend, then I think we will fare better than I thought against the Lakers.
Boozer should be stepping up his game, not shrinking when he is needed. Carlos and Karl have a lot in common.
Five of the Jazz fouls were DELIBERATE fouls to stop the clock with 1:09 left to go in the game or less.
Subtract those deliberate fouls and you get:
Lakers 27 fouls
Jazz 28 fouls
Considering the Utah Jazz is an extremely physical team that led the ENTIRE NBA in fouling this season, it is the Lakers fans who should be whining about the reffing, not the Jazz fans.
Even though Jazz are a poor road team, they can win in L.A. because their fans are so laid back, they aren't that much of a factor. In fact, there were a surprising number of people there cheering for the Jazz.
Stud: Okur 21 points, 19 rebounds
Dud: Deron Williams
Layups: 2-6
Jumpers: 2-10
Dunks: 1-2
3FG: 1-6
Dud #2: Carolos Boozer
Layups: 4-6
Jumpers: 1-7
Dunks: 1-1
Turnovers: 7
AK47 deserved more playing time, he was earning it.
Matt Harpring and Brewer's inability to hit jump shots lost us the game.
It's not all Soan's fault. He coaches great...during the regular season...then forgets how to coach during the playoffs. It's quite an amazing thing to see.
Yeah, it's too bad to see Boolone play so crappy, I mean normal. But, the thing that's really sad to watch is how bad Harpring has gotten this year. The guy can't even make shots or rebound anymore. He's a liability along with Boolone. And, Korver....he played ok yesterday, but wow, slow down and make some shots. He's playing like he's never seen a basketball in his life.
It doesn't matter how good Kobe does. If we just had somebody besides Okur and Williams(every game except for yesterday) show up to play, we would have no problem with any team
Ok, I'll give him credit for winning six championships with the best player ever, and three(should be more) with the most dominant center and the second best player(Kobe, who probably will end up as the best player ever).
Wait.....now that I think about that.....no.....you could be "Playoff Jerry Sloan" and still win with those teams. Sorry Phil
Who cares if Dwill has an off night out of 8 good ones but right now Boozer might as well put an opposing team jersey on cause he is killing the Jazz. At half he had six turnovers alone and how many jumpers. Get your lazy but inside and do some work. His defense was pathetic as usual.
Those on the Milsap wagon go back and look at the box score from the Houston series and there is not that much difference between him and Boozer. He is foul prone. And his shooting avg. is not that great.
I thought at the first of the year that AK should go but Boozer is more of an issue than AK. At least if Karl had an off night offensively outside he took it inside and upped his defense.
For much of the first half Boozer was playing FOR the Lakers--handing them the ball 6 times through the 1st quarter and a half.
Then we shoot poorly and in my opinion most of it was not due to great defense. 3's and 2's would just not go down.
Then Kobe gets to the line 23 times for a record 21 makes on mostly the usual phantom foul calling.
We cut it to 5 late in the 4th despite all the difficulties.
If we shoot even average we win that game--and that is including all the phantom foul calling the refs give Kobe.
We can win in LA.
We will drag Boozer along for another series and win despite him.
D-Williams will come to play Wednesday. Watch out Fish-er, you are about to get fried. Deron had a poor shooting game and still just narrowly missed a triple double by 1 assist and 1 rebound.
It was a winnable game but you can't win 'em all, can you!?
For what i saw yesterday for me is still JAZZ in 6!!
Celebrate wins but lose with dignity too like good JAZZ FANS!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZZ!!
Contrary to what many have said I think that Boozer showed some life in this game and was able to score on the interior and take it at Pau. This is a good sign and somehting I think the Jazz can take advantage of. He was finishing and getting the calls, we need more of that from him. I think the Jazz need to go to Booz more and he needs to go to the Paint and take better care of the ball. Both those are doable.
When Memo and AK play like that the Jazz are hard to beat. With fresh legs the jumpers will come closer to there season average and the Jazz win.
As far as the ref's go it's the same old thing. Kobe gets every call and the majority of the Lakers calls are on scoring opps. The Jazz had almost as many calls but not in scoring opportunities. If Kobe doesn't get all of those it's a much different game.
Jazz in 6.
Too many big men who won't step it up have come and gone, and will continue to do so.
When are we going to have an athletic team that doesn't get burned in transition?
Last years Rocky Mountian Review or beating the Lakers in the playoffs NOW? Why are not using our best weapons available in this battle? I like Korver when he's hitting his shots, but when he's not, C.J. should be in the game. He can shoot the lights out when given the chance. Also I don't know why Harpring was even aloud to play yesterday the condition he was in.
Let me show you how it's done.
In spite of shooting %40 from the field, including 4-19 (21%) from 3pt range, and playing a day and 1/2 after playing Houston in a hard fought game and playing a well rested Laker team in LA, the Jazz came back from 19 down (which is especially tough when you can't make a 3) and was only down 6 with less than 2 minutes to play.
If I'm a Laker fan I'm scared, I'm afraid, because in the back of my mind I know that even after three days rest and playing at home facing elimination the Nuggets never made my team fight for every point and every rebound. I'm really scared that when we go back to Utaah and Kobe doesn't shoot 20+ free throws we are going to have some serious trouble keeping up with the Jazz.
GO JAZZ!!!!
Jazz fans will blame coaches, players and each other.. DWill will be a Laker when his contract is up...D Fisher will kill the Jazz with his accurate shooting in game 2 and 4.
More CJ and Brewer and less Korver.
But also more AK and less Harpring.
PLEASE SLOAN!!!
