I think our midfield play was shining proof that it is better when Talley isn't on the field. I appreciated what he has offered the club over the last years, but there are more capable bodies around him now that improve our play. I do like having his leadership in practice and on the bench though.
Our midfield ball control was great. Dema looked good in the back and Andy was awesome, morales played well also. I hope we keep this starting 11 this is the best we have looked.
I agree, tally is a great guy, but I think he's lost a step and has lost some of his game. He's always seemed just a little behind this season. It's too bad, I hope it can pick up for him, because he's been a great player
Plus, the league's talent level has been on the verge of passing him by for some years now. It had only been through expansion that he'd been able to hold on. When he came to RSL, it was the only team he could plausibly be a 2,000 minute player for.
Lets hope that Talley finds himself on the bench next week. I hate to say this but I think we play better without him. Morales is looking great. All the Argies are (including Cordoba). Olave was a good pickup as well. After spending our first three years scouting Trinidad and Costa Rica we finally discovered that there are quality players in Argentina. Who knew that there are good players in Argentina?
Espindola and Duechars looked good together. Also Morales, Beckerman, Williams, Kovalenko looked solid in the midfield. Love Olave and Borchers in the back. Still not certain about Beltran.
Put Seitz in.
please no talley. i totally agree with scads. thanks for what you've done, but the consistent errors are just killing us.
great game against team beckham. some critical mistakes on RSLs part, especially giving up the free kick at the top of the box...you just dont do that against beckham.
Goalie: Seitz
Left Back: Joy
Center Back: Mantilla
Center Back: Borchers
Right Back: Olave
Left Mid: Beckerman
Holding Mid: Sturgis
Attacking Mid: Morales
Right Mid: Williams
Striker: Espindola
Striker: Deuchar
Subs:Findley, Cordoba, Kovalenko, Wingert, Rimando
This would be my dream starting 11 for RSL. I know Sturgis is injured and such, but when healthy this would be the most productive lineup in my opinion.
Have your take on it though, lets see what you think would work
When has beckham scored two goals of that caliber in the same game?... I'm going to say never. He is a good player, but he hit two amazing shots, shots he won't hit every game, that is for sure.
We got unlucky with Deuchars' second being called back and Yura being Yura and going for glory himself, and missing of course. Kreis needs to work with him. It takes skill and hard work to score 100 goals in your career, he should try to pass some of that on to the younger generation we have right now...
Hopefully he doesn't mess with the lineup too much, cause I think this is one of the best line ups we've had (the one against DC was good too).
We've seen good soccer, now we just need results.
