McGrady is no different than disappearing ink. He appears that he is there but
when it matters the most he disappears. What do you have to say now Mr. Excuse
maker? What will you say next? Way to finally handle your business Jazz. Of
course Boozer is not off the hook here he is still yet to show up and to beat
L.A. if Boozer plays this same way we will be going fishing, if he shows up Utah
wins this series! GO JAZZ!

I don't hate many people, but I hate McGrady after what he said about Jazz
fans. He can go home and whine the entire summer away. A loser for another year.

Well, let's face it. The Rockets are a one-man show, and no team advances
on the strength of one superstar. T-Mac is a great player in a bad situation.
Even Michael Jordan wasn't winning championships in his prime when he
didn't have a supporting cast.

McGrady is an awesome player, a fantastic shooter, a good passer, able to make
his own shot, an adequate defender. He also handles himself fairly well in
interviews. But he can't win by himself, and it was his teammates who
didn't show up last night. If McGrady were playing for Utah, we would love
him. If you want to criticize Houston, how about mentioning Shane Battier, the
college player of the year when he was a senior, who went a pathetic 2-7 in Game
6? Or how about first round pick and former Big Ten Player of the Year Bobby
Jackson, who went 2-12, a performance certainly not worthy of the former
runnerup to the Sixth Man of the Year Award? Still, it wasn't
Houston's offense that cost them the game -- it was their defense.
You're not going to win many games if your opponent scores more than 110
points. And that certainly was not Tracy McGrady's fault.

Umm...AZ Jazz Fan...I do not think that 40 points, 28 by halftime, is equal to
being "shut down".
Brewer and the rest of the team stepped up their defense on McGrady in the second half, which is really what sparked the run (and the incredible board work in the 3rd...Houston was 1-and-done all quarter), but they absolutely did NOT shut him down.
If you think that was good defense by Brewer then I guess you will be happy when Bryant goes off for 60 and we only lose by 10...since Brewer would have done such a good defensive job on Kobe...after all, that IS short of his 80 point performance, right?
They must do a FAR better job on Kobe. In the end, the article is right, McGrady just did not show up in the 3rd. I have nothing against McGrady. He's a great player. But he doesn't
have the same grit as some of the other stars in the league. Want my opinion?
The rocket I would want most on our team is Battier.

Everyone on earth would be pulling for McGrady if he learned to keep his mouth
shut! Most of today's professional athletes ascribe to the Muhammed Ali
school of public relations...they think they can brag their way through any
competition...but they forget the second part of the equation...Ali could back
it up. At any rate, I agree, everyone needs to show up every night for the
Lakers...and let's hope they are overlooking the Jazz the same way Boston
overlooked the Hawks! Go Jazz...and Go Hawks!

Mc Grady should play for the JAZZ...he would be a team man with our group. He
would end up helping us win the title! A couple of our guys (so called super
stars) don't show up to play half the time...usually on the road. Trade em
for players with consistency..like Matt Harpring. What a great guy!!!!

Uh, I don't know what Jordan you watched, but he won 6 titles during his
"prime." He never dealt with not having a supporting cast. The
Washington years were hardly his prime. Maybe you were talking about his
baseball career.

the rocket I would like to see in a Jazz uniform would be Scola. Looks like he has a great future in this league and he is the one player on their team that I didn't hear making any excuses when they lost.

His two best games were the ones that weren't close. when only down by 4 at
the beginning of the third quarter, he went back to being MIA. Of course
that's when the Jazz put on the real pressure, and thats when he crumbled.
Once the fourth quarter started, he could all of a sudden begin scoring again.
Of course the game was over then and he was no longer under any pressure to
deliver. McGrady is a choker who also makes bad decisions and takes horrible
shots down the stretch of close games. That is why he can't get pas the
first round.

McGrady lost and can take his lazy eye back to Houston.

great series. A great half and that is the story of his playoff life. One late
game fade out after another.
McGrady will always be a big pull to the SportsCenter highlight reels, but he will never carry a team anywhere. His "me first" mentality and inaability to make teammates better ensure that at best he can only be the 2nd best option on a really good team.
Unfortunately for the Rockets, their other option, Yao Ming, seems to be far too fragile for NBA life.

Yeah, that headline is a bit of a cheap shot. McGrady had a horrible third
quarter when the Jazz put the game out of reach, but he singlehandedly kept his
team from being outright embarrassed in the fourth quarter. Anyone who can
score 12 points in the fourth isn't fading.
That said, there were times in the series where he just disappeared. Attribute those dropoffs to the Jazz, though, and not to any inadequacy on T-Mac's part. His playoff numbers are better than his regular season numbers across the board.

McGrady can't complain that he's never favored to win in a playoff
series. It just means he needs to play better during the regular season and get
a higher seed. Or maybe not take up so much cap space....

You can say what you want about McGrady. To me he is one of the classiest
players in the League. The Jazz did a good job of making him work hard for his
points, even fouling him hard at times. T-Mac never said anything back, just
continued to play. Gives credit where it's due, and is a good teammate.
Get him some more support, and watch out.

kidding me? Did you not hear any of his comments about the NBA FANS in Utah,
(who help pour money into his profession)? Did you not hear him throw his coach
under the bus for not putting Mutumbo in to rebound on the foul line? Do you not
realize that he has one of the richest contracts in the NBA, yet can't show
anything for it? This guy is a whiner and turns it "on" or
"off" like his cousin Vince Carter. TMac can go sulk in his mansion
and airplane while true competitors keep playing!

It took me a little while but I finally realized what it was about this article
that bugs me...Once again TMac gets a pass on what he said...because he is some
sort of demigod to the press, but how is it that he claims nobody expected him
to win...2 consecutive years they lost out to a Jazz team that was seeded lower
than them...whose expectations is he talking about?

Time for the WNBA.
He score 40, but his points came when the Jazz were in control. When Jazz up 16 in the 2nd quarter, McLady started scoring. When things got close in the third, No McLady, Jazz go up in the 4th, McLady is back to scoring.
