Ah! Finally the DN site actually works.
I was wondering about more serious movies coming during the summer. I don't see anything in your report that might appeal to my occasional hankering for a good drama. For serious adult fare. Have the movies given the summer months over to the kids? Totally?
X-files ran out of steam in like it's third season. It's just tired, that's why it was retired. I don't know anyone who is anticipating it more than Indy 4, Ironman or Dark Knight.
As for Brian's comment, grow an imagination! Just because a movie has action, adventure or sci-fi elements doesn't mean that it's strictly kids' stuff. Sounds like you're a movie snob.
I read yesterday about the difficulty encountered by those who were trying to bring the incredible story of "Hotel Rwanda" to the big screen. Probably because the studios were busy with the likes of 'Kung Fu Panda', Will Farrell, and Patrick "McDreary" Dempsey.
To be fair, the studios do release their share of "serious dramas" come fall. Though independent, "art-house" theaters like the Broadway Centre do offer that fare year round ...
