Harpring is tough guy.
Bowen is dirty.
So, T-Mac, don't cry like a baby.
Oops, Matt, T-Mac lit up the Jazz for 29 last night, so instead of talking about how tough you're going to be defending him, you might want to actually carry that onto the court and execute it too. The rockets are crybabies who won't last a second with other pysical teams like the Spurs, Celtics, Hawks, or Pistons. The Jazz seemed to bow down before the whining and play soft, as if they read the papers and decided to tone down their game. Or is it just that there is more revenue for the Jazz when they play an extra game in Energy Solutions Arena and they wanted to win the series at home? Three words for you Matt: Seal the Deal.
Harpring would be better served by playing smarter rather than harder. He makes more bonehead plays during crucial situations than anyone in the NBA.
Harpring would be better served if he played smarter rather than harder. The guy makes more bonehead plays during crucial situations, it seems to me, than any player in the NBA.
I'm a Jazz fan, and even I admit that when Harpring takes the court he's more interested in knocking people around than playing smart basketball. He really hurt the Jazz last night with his thug antics. If he can do it like Scola, who commits about 30 fouls a game and can still be effective around the basket, then it's OK. But Harpring's fouls are so obvious and so unnecessary, that he's doing more harm than good.
Harpring wasn't nearly as dirty as Stockton and Malone. Those guys new every trick in the book to get away with it.
Bring it on Houston because you are going down. Everything is peachy when you win, but win you lose their is always someone to blame it on. Rather it be the refts, the coach, other players. Since they won last ngith I haven't heard any complaints about the Jazz playing to physical. The JAzz aren't whining the Scola never gets called for a foul, or T-Mac gets every call and then some. Just take it like you should when you lose and realize that you played worse than the Jazz and that is the reason that they beat you.
For the last time - there was nothing dirty about Stockton's game. Annoying for bigger players? Of course. Who wants to run into a point guard setting a tough pick in the middle of the key? Stockton was willing to hold his ground and not roll over, and it's unfairly branded him as a "dirty" player.
What a bunch of bonehead posts. Harprings play did not hurt the Jazz no worse than the play of the Jazz as a whole. If you want to see wasted time look at Boozer, AK, Milsap.
Go to the box score and look at there numbers. At least Harpring puts out effort good or bad and they only other players to do that has been Brewer and Dwill.
Harpring says it perfectly, there is a difference between tough and dirty. He is a strong guy, and can make an attempted flop look like a traumatic injury to whoever he hits.
Harpring played football?
Fire/Retire Sloan
hahaha its funny that you people cry about fouls haha... obviously fouling more works a little better because as it shows everywhere the jazz are up 3 games to 2... WHAT UP NOW HOUSTON!!!
The NBA's pampered wimps like McGrady, Michael Jordan, and Isiah Thomas have always whined when the Jazz play them tough and beat them. Since the NBA (under David Stern) deteriorated into "celebrity demonstration basketball" and the officials began calling fouls on the basis of who was involved instead of what actually happened, the NBA's poster boys have expected that everybody has to treat them different. Well, McGrady, don't expect that from a Jerry Sloan team and if Jerry ever caves in to the celebrity style, I'll stop watching.
If you don't think Harpring makes dumb decisions, and I'm not just talking about his spastic physical play, then you're not paying attention. The thing that exasperates me is that Jerry tolerates it because Matt plays hards. That's just plain dumb as well.
