Thanks to Texas | 6:32 a.m. April 30, 2008
This Baby boy has a chance of growing up and having a very productive life with no fear of being molested or thrown out on the streets when he becomes a teenager. He will not have to fear old perverts that see him as a threat to their harem. This baby boy is very fortunate to be born at this time. On Behalf of this Baby Boy..THANK YOU TEXAS

What a shame Americans don't believe in freedom any more. What has happened in Texas will happen anywhere to anyone if not stopped. Freedom of religon is anyone's basic right. This baby boy should have been born where the mother felt save not under duress by the state. Because a persons belief is different doesn't make it wrong and monsterious. What little abuse there MAY be amongst these people is not near as bad as main stream America. Their religon is the target and that's wrong and a witch hunt. Are we living in the 17th century?

I am glad the little boy WAS born where he is safe. Not in a compound where he has a dim future. Texas will not have the "Lost Boys of Texas" You said "What little abuse there may be amongst these people....." There is no such thing as "little abuse" and I think the abuse was rampant. There religion had nothing to do with this!

Hazel is so right this girl and her baby belong with her husband and her church. That is the way it should be because we are above the laws of your country. Our president is not yours ours is Warren Jeffs. So you outsiders leave us alone and leave that baby alone and that mother alone.

I read multiple places that this young family is a monogamous couple. The father is 22 and they also have a 16-month-old child who is now in foster care elsewhere.

Unless the mom is already nearly 19,this adds up to underage sex for the mother. HOWEVER, this couple is close enough in age that if they were not from the FLDS they would have social workers after them to get him to support his kids and negotiate other family relationships.

I think there is plenty that is creepy and worthy of investigation about the FLDS. I also thinkg it is tragic that the whole family cannot be together during this key time in their lives. I also think it is ridiculous and inappropriate to require these people to abandon their faith completely. I think ig they just gave prayerful consideration to what it means to be a worthy prophet, they could probably get clear about a few key changes that could satisfy TX and allow them to continue to practice key parts of their faith.
How can you know??? | 6:33 a.m. May 2, 2008
How can you know anything is the truth concerning the FLDS people?

Truth is not found among some of them. If they have something to hide, they don't tell the truth.

I watched them on Larry King Live.. and their avoidance of many of his questions. They sounded like programmed robots.

Polygamy IS against the law... So is marrying a 14-16 year old girl to any man... no matter what his age.

Again... you can't get the truth out of them. Not even their age... Do they not believe, "Thou shalt not lie"?

What a mess. The State of Texas, Utah, Nevada, Arizona etc... have let it get out of hand by turning a blind eye for so many years.

I attended school, in Utah, with young women who were in polygamist families.. We all knew it... that was over 25 years ago.

It is past time to get moving in doing something about it!!!
