Pretty good article, but in this trial Novell is the plaintiff and SCO the defendant.

Yes, the original suit claims by SCO against Novell were decided in Novell's favor, and today's trial is about the counterclaims made by Novell (that SCO owes some $30 million.)

Agreed, Brice doesn't understand this case. SCO is the defendent and is not trying its Linux case here. This is the counter-suit from Novell and the argument that SCO owes it money for licenses. This has nothing to do with the UNIX in Linux case. SCO HAS to get through this before they move to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to appeal Kimball's Aug 10th ruling.
