If she had been in the middle of the song you would be right. She was within the first couple of words. This was not a broadway show it was a pop concert. I was at a Mac Davis concert a couple of years ago and he re-started probably three songs and asked the audience for some of the lyrics he couldn't remember. It wasn't embarassing. It was fun and we enjoyed the concert even more because it felt real. I thought Brooke sang great after re-starting. Too many people got caught up in her mistake. I disagreed with the judges. I thought she got into the song very well after her do-over. In pop it's not a cardinal sin. In a broadway show- maybe yes. Under the circumstances her instinct was right. You can possibly tell me that the one out of three judges you agree with is Paula?

Who was, or who has the right to make the rules for whether or not you should start over? Certainly not you, or anyone else, only the person performing can interpret that. I am an accomplished musician, and I feel my opinion is just as important as yours. If Brooke felt the need to start over it is her choice and you nor I have the right to tell her whether it is right or wrong. When it comes to the arts, let free expression reign supreme (oh I can hear the groanings now) If people dont like the artist interpretation or choice then don't vote for her. Wow, more choices! imagine that!

If I never see another Mel Brooks film/play, it will be too soon. We had the misfortune to see the play, "The Producers," in Los Angeles, and prior to buying tickets, watched the old movie of the same. It was mildly suggestive, but only merited, at worst, a "PG" rating. The play, however, was decidedly "R," filled with unnecessary vulgarity. Brooks represents the lowest, crassest denominator of humor. The last time I heard his brand of "dirty jokes" was in elementary school.

Mac Davis!! Washed up and forgets lyrics. What a show.

I'd like to be washed up like Mac Davis. I'll gaurantee he makes more money than you (and he can do it just sitting at home). He still gets royalties and album sales. Look it up. He wrote some of Elvis's biggest hits that are still being played today. So yeah, if he's washed up, I'd take being washed up too.

If we are comparing to the "pros", maybe Brooke should have went into a hoe-down dance like Ashlee Simpson on SNL.

Brooke's misfire didn't hurt her because she was so genuine afterward that one could hardly hold it against her. That doesn't mean it wasn't a dangerous choice to make. American Idol contestants forget their lyrics almost every week and no one makes too big a deal of it. She could have picked up a moment later and been no worse off. Choosing to start over was foolhardy, but it apparently worked out just fine. Again, I think that had everything to do with her attitude about it and nothing to do with whether or not it was the right thing to do.

Oh, and Andrew Lloyd Webber doesn't go by Sir anymore. He's been a Baron since 1997. The appropriate title is Rt. Hon. Lord Lloyd Webber, but I guess I can't take anyone to task over avoiding an overblown bit of pomp like "Rt. Hon. Lord."

It was pretty bad this week. I expected better. And I thought ALW was hard on David A. because I have NEVER noticed his eyes closed before. And to someone who loves to hear a great voice, it doesn't matter if their eyes are open or closed. It reminds me of Elliott Yamin. So many people criticized his teeth and stage presence, but he was popular because everyone knew HE could sing!

I love Brooke White, and while starting and stopping wasn't the best thing, it wasn't the worst. A concert is not a basketball game...however, being on Broadway is, and I've seen enough Broadway to know that at times actors forget their lines, no matter how many thousands of times they have practiced. She'll learn from this experience and if it ever happens again, I hope she will joke with the audience about it with reflections of her AI disaster. However, I'm not voting for her anymore because I'm sticking to the two I really feel have the largest star potential as pop artists...the Davids. I will buy any cd Brooke puts out though as I love her voice and personality and I'm dying to hear one of HER songs and not someone else's. I was so happy that David C. sang the song I wanted him to "Music of the Night" with his cool spin on the last chord. Most of my family hated that, but I totally loved it! Plus, is there a song David A. can not sing wonderfully (besides that one Beatles song)? Great arrangement! Syesha was born for Broadway all the way.

Huh? Is this the Deseret News? For a minute there I thought I was reading an article written by someone from TMZ.

It was a tough week for all of the Idols. I was thrilled most by David Cook and Syesha Mercado's performance. Brooke started an stopped which according to Paula Abdul is a huge no-no at this point in the competition. David Archuleta also forgot part of his lyrics. It is hard to be tough on Jason Castro since he was battling the flu. Hopefully he is feeling better and will deliver a great performance this week.
