Can't HATE Houston | 12:54 p.m. April 24, 2008
As much as I would like to hate Houston, I just can't. Pity would be more the word. They really don't have much to play with right now and they're doing the best they can. Their fans have to resort to trying to get as much worked out of their system as they can before the long off-season. I feel for them. Meanwhile I will reserve my hate for LA & SA.

Kevin, yes we are lucky Yao is out, just like Rockets were lucky MJ was playing baseball! Next we will see if Yoa can amke it through the Olympics and a full season. But will that make it so McGranny isn't so so tired in the 4th? What a lame excuse, "I just ran out of gas, I am the only guy on my team, wha wha wha!! Drink a redbull Mcsleepy. By the way I am positive that it was the "Whopper" Billy Paultz that took the cheap shot from Hakeem, it changed the momentum of the game and the Jazz won.
re: Kevin | 1:16 p.m. April 24, 2008
Your argument holds no substance. The Jazz beat the Rockets last year w/o homecourt. They won this year's season series. Yao was not there for all of the games this year, but he was there for a couple of them. Would it have made a difference in the playoffs? Maybe. Would the Rockets have been better this year in the playoffs with Yao? Perhaps. The Jazz are a better team this year, too. Stupid losses to some bad teams earlier in the year cost the Jazz a chance at homecourt throughout the West playoffs. When your team goes 37-4 at home this would have been huge!! The Jazz took care of business in Houston. That is what it comes down to. They exploited the Rockets weaknesses and won. The Jazz have weaknesses. The Rockets have not done enough to overcome it. Go Jazz!!!!

With a Yao Ming in the game, the Rockets dont have to rely on Mcgrady in the forth, you cant double both of them. You double 1 the other scores, you double 1 the other scores. And yes now you say this didnt work last year in the playoffs, and i say you are right, why? because we didnt have the right role players i/e a argentinian bulldog at power foreward or a bobby jackson relief hustler backing up Rafer(our STARTING point guard). So next year when you bring your squad to the playoffs and we bring ours, the utah jazz are goona be sippin strawberry daqeris on looney toon island after the first 4 games, wondering what went wrong

Barakoboi | 1:31 p.m. April 24, 2008
sorry for your predicament down 0-2. Scola definitely pushed off and fouled AK....he may have had some extra movement but he did sold it to the refs. Don't blame on AK....blame it on the refs for making the calls. Oh and btw the biggest flopper is Shane Battier!!!
Clutchman | 1:57 p.m. April 24, 2008
TOO BAD YOU GUYS HAVE TO LIVE IN UTAH TRAPPED IN ALL THE SNOW AND MOUNTAINS.
WITH ONLY ONE TEAM TO LIVE FOR.

YOU GUYS LOOK MISERABLE IN THE STANDS EVEN WHEN THE JAZZ ARE WINNING!!!

IM PROUD OF OUR ROCKETS EVEN IF THEY LOSE WE STILL GOT NFL MLB AND MLS TO LOOK FORWARD TO AND CAN ALWAYS GO OUTSIDE AND ENJOY A NICE SUNNY DAY.

YOU LOOK LIKE FLDS PEOPLE IN THE STANDS!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Jazz | 2:03 p.m. April 24, 2008
It was Billy Paultz who got sucker punched. T Mac is not a superstar he is to streaky from the perimeter and has no heart, Oh and the remark about classless fans is ridiculous all fans are classless. Stop crying Houston fan go home wait till next year when Yao is injured again and T Mac still has no heart.

Since your son-in-law is brainwashing your grandson, you need to make an annonymous call to the Texas Department of Child Services so they can surround the compound and remove all children so that they aren't brainwashed.

Yao | 2:17 p.m. April 24, 2008
For those who think Houston would win this series with Yao in the lineup, see last year's series.
Houston | 3:18 p.m. April 24, 2008
I hate Utah
Red_Glare | 3:20 p.m. April 24, 2008
Last years series didn't include a likely Rookie of the Year power forward-- not to mention a better coach. A 22-game winning streak, with Yao out for half of it doesn't lie-- Houston IS the better team, they just aren't there.

In regards to the past-- MJ was with the Bulls the year the Rockets SWEPT the best team in the East, the Orlando Magic, in the finals. Don't even try to say that the Magic beat the Bulls that year because he was "rusty"-- he scored 55 points in one of the games prior to being eliminated.

Also, look up MJ's and Phil Jackson's quotes on the subject and you will see that they openly admit to fearing a series against Hakeem and the Rockets-- because they had NO answer for Hakeem. Check the regular season records for the Rockets vs. the Bulls those years-- the Rockets owned them.

Houston has a NFL and MLB team? I don't believe I have ever heard of them. Are they really good too?
pbrown | 3:42 p.m. April 24, 2008
notice Aaron only mentions the spurs and jazz as the flopping teams. Probably b/c he is frustrated that Houston can't beat them.
Jack Gough | 3:58 p.m. April 24, 2008
I worked with Aaron Bales. Funny guy. Pretty good baller too. Jazz 98, Blouses 86. Word.
FLOPPING | 4:04 p.m. April 24, 2008
Houston flops just as much as anyone. I lived in Argentina, and they are ALL soccer players. In soccer, you are taught to act like you are about to die if some one breathes on you. That's why players are taken out on stretchers when so one scratches them. That is a big reason why the Spurs are so bad (Ginobili and Oberto), not to mention the American Thomas and Bowen. Houston has Scola, another Argentine, who flops all over the place. So does Battier, and T-Mac is awful. He acts like some one mugs him, then smiles after they call the foul cause he knows he wasn't touched. You can hate the Jazz all you want, but don't try to say they flop more than the Rockets.
John | 4:32 p.m. April 24, 2008
Trust me, people with any real style would rather be in Houston, i'll kill myself from boredom living in salt lake. Remember the bottom line, old news or not, Houston=2 titles.........Utah=0. Plain truth.
Houston hater! | 4:51 p.m. April 24, 2008
I'm sick of everyone talking about game two. Get over it houston fans. Bobby Jackson made that 3 pointer long after the whistle was blown. Let's face the facts here, Andre did get fouled. He added a little flop, but it was a foul none-the-less. In this article the Jazz are compared to the Spurs and Manu. What a joke! Every other team in the NBA flops just like the Jazz if not more. Houston get out your brooms and get your team ready for another whoopin next season.
Rockets fan | 5:18 p.m. April 24, 2008
I don't hate the Jazz, and I like the way they play. Don't take yourselves too seriously. Its just basketball.
Sweep | 5:20 p.m. April 24, 2008
Kevin... the "Great Wall" played last year and we beat you... Sorry to break it to you, the Jazz are just better.
Houston | 6:03 p.m. April 24, 2008
Actually i do believe Houston has a baseball team, and i think they might be on a 5 game winning streak but im not sure, yep we are. Now to the rockets. It would be pretty hard for us to beat the jazz in a series when two of our starters are out. Take out any two of your starters and see who would win the series.
rockets94/08 | 6:16 p.m. April 24, 2008

Hey Jazz fans, I am a long time Rockets fan. I don't hate the Jazz. not this current roster anyway. I did hate Malone and Stockon. I was happy neither of them won a Championship. One of the greastest games the Rox ever played was taking game 5 in Utah in the 94/95 season. The second year we won a championship. The Rox went into the 4th down 7. That was the 4th quarter battle between Malone and Olajuwon. Olajuwon won but Malone was a worthy opponent.
As far as the current Jazz ya'll got some bangers. Great squad. I think the Jazz take LA but you won't get past the Spurs. it will be Boston and SA in Finals. The Jazz are one of the great franchises in the NBA but there is always a Texas team standing in your way. Houston in the 90's, SA now.

@tucsonute
"I am surprised Captain Dick's son-in-law didn't bring up the fact that Billy "The Whopper" Paultz forced The Dream to punch him back in the 80's."

Olajuwon used to punch a lot of people back in the 80's. Teams would have their enforcer, Olden Polynice or Maurice Lucas types slap Olajuwon around so he would take a punch and get thrown out of the game. Once Otis Thorpe came along everything simmered down. Thorpe kept the pe

I'm more a basketball fan than a Rockets fan, but reading all this just seems funny. The two chances that the Jazz ever had of winning the Championship (Jordan years don't count) were ruined by... the Houston Rockets. The only thing the Jazz got from beating the Rockets during the Jordan years was bitterness and disappointment, and the fact that Jordan pushed off Byron Russell and got a no-call. So yeah, I can definitely see why there's such a bitterness in general from almost all of the Jazz writers, professional and amateur.

Don't get me wrong, the Jazz have an amazing team that hasn't peaked yet, but to use this year's Rocket's team as a rubric is somewhat ignorant considering they have only one real offensive weapon that misfires 48% of the time. Don't give me that nonsense about Scola or Landry; they're untested energy guys that have much to learn. But in the end, a 22 game winning streak will last; what will people remember from this year's Jazz team?

And what's with the name? What does Jazz have anything to do with Utah? I never understood this.
22 game win streak | 7:59 p.m. April 24, 2008
nobody remembers a 22 game win streak to when shortly after you fall back down to the 4th best record in the west, then get swept in the 1st round of the playoffs by that Utah Jazz team that nobody will remember...

people only remember championships, and right about now, it looks like the Jazz have a better chance at getting one this year than the Rockets do...

about Yao...we didn't have to double team him...we simply contain him with one guy...where the Jazz beat the Rockets is bench play...

The only player that would be worthy of a Jazz uniform is Battier...
Sam | 6:40 a.m. April 25, 2008
Uh, the ROCKETS WON!!!! SUCK IT UP JAZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!
Terry | 7:08 a.m. April 25, 2008
The Jazz own the Rockets??? Didn't the teams play each other two years in row when the Rockets won titles? It sounds to me like the Jazz would trade all of the success they've had through the years for even ONE of our titles. Don't believe me? Ask Jerry Sloan.....
Jazz = Flop City | 8:41 a.m. April 25, 2008
Sorry mayo Jazz fan.

Your team's legacy is about flopping and dirty play. It always will be.

They finally started to call some fouls late in game three (except for a no call on a missing tooth and some more Jazz flop fouls) and look what happened...

The Rockets would have killed the Bulls in the '90s btw. We always did. But MJ and the Bulls lost in the playoffs to Orlando in '95 so it doesn't even matter.

Flop.
