After watching the coverage on CNN I can't figure out how Obama will win the General Election. They say he just doesn't get the core democrat voters (Seniors, blue collar and women) and the exit polls show a good amount of hillary voters who would sit out or vote McCain in the GE. Unfortunatly for him there are no caucuses in the general election and not all states have a large african american population.
If Hillary would of made an attempt on the Caucuses, she would of had this thing wrapped up already. The news makes this contest sound like a festering wound for the Dems.
Obama would need her more as a VP then she would need him. I doubt either of them will run on the others ticket. If it does happen I bet it backfires. Just too much ego. So sad, this year was supposed to be a slam dunk victory. Last election was too I guess, they just keep finding ways to lose.
It just prolongs the obvious. She will try to be nasty nasty nasty in Indiana, but not NC. NC is Obama's country, like PA was Hillary's. Indiana is where she will spend her money.
Funny to see Hillary ask for more money from her supporters. She and Bill made over $100M in the last 10 years? Or was it 7 years? And yet she wants the $20 from her supporters.
Yah gotta love the hutzspa. Yah gotta love her.
Hillary had to win over 59% of the vote in every remaining primary to pass Obama, yet Pennsylvania was her best hope, where months ago she had a bigger lead. She cannot win the nomination, she can only hope to broker a back room deal to steal a nomination against the vote of party members. She is only playing the spoiler, hurting Obama in the coming race against McCain. She is underminimg the Democrats chance in November. With the mess "W" has created, this election should be an easy win for the Democrats and she is tipping the scale to the Republicans. It is time for her to go!
You must not have watched the CNN part I watched. They said that assuming Clinton wins 7 of the last 10, and they split the superdelagate votes, Obama would still win, because he's so far in the lead. He is leading in nearly all the rest of the polls. As the article said, she didn't really gain a whole lot from this victory, because he still won many votes that added to his score.
This is a moral victory for her. According to what I saw, they seemed to think it would be a miracle if Clinton won, which is fine by me cuz I can't bear to have her in office.
The Democratic process seems designed to not produce a winner. Clinton won by a landslide but will barely win any more delegates than Mr AlsoRan. You get the same reward for just showing up that the actual winner receives. Liberal Democrats can put on a decent nominating process, they sure can't run the country. Leave them to run (into the ground) the things they already are ruining (big cities, unions, universities). Keep them far away from the White House or American business.
TO RR
I didn't say Obama will lose the Democrat contest but CNN just pointed to his shortcomings amoung groups of core democrat voters and of the Clinton voters who will vote for the other team or not show up (exit polls).
I only suggested that Hillary would of won if she would of made an attempt at Caucuses. She seems content to blame moveon.org for her inability to win those.
I think it has come apparent to us that the republicans are doing well running the country and American Business; the extremely high satisfaction rate of the current president and the booming economy are strong evidence as such.
(In case you are too dry, old, and conservative- above mentioned is largely sarcastic)
"staying the course" will simply sink our oversized boat in a pool with no water, only the best special Olympian GW could make that happen.
Special Olympics- republicans have little room to discuss mental inhibitions in democratic leaders.
And how, in any way, are dems ruining big cities, unions, or universities? Even if this is the case, how you could possibly elude to that fact that such "ruining" aren't strongly overshadowed by a laugh of a presidential office ruining a country.
Hillary will make a great president; she has what it takes---she is smart, wise, has instinct, a sense of humor, experience and is probably the smartest person in our country, and she is a great daughter, wife and mother.
Operation Chaos is winning!!
Nothing makes a great president like the ability to knock down whisky with a beer chaser, eh?
