There's no doubt - and I mean absolutely no doubt - that the best strike partner for Deuchar is Espindola. But with Espindola hurt, my guess is you'll continue to see Findley start up there.
But if Findley wants to keep starting, he'd better figure out how to work with Deuchar in a hurry. He's likely got just a game or two before Espindola is healthy again, and if he and the good doctor haven't got it figured out, Findley will be back on the bench.
The clock is ticking, Robbie. You need to make progress NOW.
I think Yura has been more dangerous with the limited minutes he has been given. If Espindola is hurt, I would start Yura and bring on Robbie at about 65.
Yes Findley, you need to hurry because RSL will be bankrupt in a few months and you will have to go back to playing the harmonica in the street. The clock is ticking Robbie! You need to make progress NOW.
Why does Deuchar have to be a starter? He has not shown much so far. Pairing up a combination of the other three makes better sense.
Duechar has done a lot more than Flash is giving him credit for. He wins a large majority of the balls that come his way, both in the air and on the ground. And off the ball he grinds the opposing defense down. With better service into the box and greater chemistry with the other forwards he'll have many more goals and assists this season.
I'd like to see KD and YM (both physically imposing) up top for the first 60 minutes to wear down the opposing D. Then insert Findley (at least until Esp is healthy) and see if a banged-up D can keep up with him.
Hey, Checkit-out, hire me as coach.
To RSLhomem...
If you like what you are seeing from RSL, then continue to support the playing of Deuchar.
Scoring 6 goals in 11 games for 2nd Division bottom dwelling Gretna in the Scottish Premier League in 2007 does not make you a great player.
I agree with the philosophy that Findley plays better as a sub. Deuchar has not been bad and I think that he is a little bit unique when compared to the other forwards. It is these unique skills that make him the easy choice to start most weeks. Movsisyan supposedly had a great pre-season and it surprises me that he has found himself out of the rotation so quickly. He is still very young and makes mistakes but Yura needs to start seeing the field. When Espindola comes back I would like to see him at Left wing and keep two strikers up front.
RSL is way to Defensive minded.... This why they cant finish either. I have never been to a training session, but my guess is they probably spend to much time on defensive and talking defense. They are afraid to give up the late one like years past.
They didnt put any pressure on TFC in the first half at all. They tried to absorb everything, they played defensive out of their defensive third. No pressure in the midfield. Try to play defense at midfield or at least the top half of the defensive third.
We came out and pressured DC and look what happened when we did. Then we get up by two and fall back and was lucky they didnt get one back. Second half we pressure again and get two more.
Then in Toronto no pressure first half at all... What are they scared of?
COME ON JASON... Take the reigns off and let em go. We arent paying to watch defensive practice session.
All in all I think they are a much improved club this year and will give an exciting season. Go REAL!
So who do you propose we start instead of Deuchar? He is definitely one of our most effective players. He has great hold up play and is dominating in the air. We have 20 new players on the team. They need to gel, our forwards have never played with someone like Deuchar up front, they will need to learn how to make runs off of him and get used to having someone who can hold up play.
I think the real problem will be our overloaded defensive midfield. We struggled with the wing play of Chivas and the first half against TFC. We should let Beckerman play D-mid, put Dema, Andy, or Espindola (or Sturgis when he is healthy) on the wings to help keep possession and support Morales. Joy is struggling to get up and back in time to be effective both offensively and defensively, and Wingert isn't performing much better. That way Beck can still get up and be the trailer on the attack, and our wingers will have the touch and skill to deliver the ball to our forwards....
Hope DC is willing to help us get our game back! Go Real!
I agree. Espindola and Dr. G up top. Findley's touch has been terrible. Joy works hard, but he isnt big enough for the job. I saw him completely collapse after getting hit last week at TFC. Maybe Olave should take his place? I don't agree with the lineups always changing. We don't have the chemistry to make it into the playoffs, we can't show up with a different line up every time. I don't care if we are trying to make the other teams adapt to our new lineups all the time. It's the MLS- most of these teams don't even know how to adapt.
When Espindola is healthy I would go with him again. Tight now I would start Yura and the Doctor. Findley scores most of thime late when his is fresh and others are tired. Bring him around 65 minutes.
I also hope we try someone else than Talley in D-Mid; I would try one of the three central def moving up or put in Cutler or Dema.
I hate Talley. He stinks. He has no game. His touch it terrible. He has no vision. His passes usually are errant. I cry whenever he enteres the game. Most of the goals against RSL this year have been a direct result of Talley giving the ball away. Did anyone else notice it was Talley that shanked his touch or pass or whatever he did back to the center of the field and that cause Mantilla to foul. We need someone that isn't going to lose possession deep in our own half. Beckerman needs to be the D-mid. Williams and Dema on the wings.
Lets leave the coaching to the coaches. It takes time to build a chemistry between players. RSL has the weapons to go far this year, but the chemistry may hinder them for a while. Stick with the team through the rough times and the good times.
I think Kenny "Big D" Deuchar has done a phenomenal job. I don't know what the Flasher is smoking. And I like Talley for that matter too. "TALLEY HO!!!"
