I'm excited that this historic mall is getting a face lift. I sometimes feel a little sick to my stomach as I pass by on I-215. But, I have some good memories of it. In 1994 I bought some retro Air Jordans at the Foot Locker there.
It looks good. I still think it is a mistake not to go with the residential units. If they were afraid about a delay, they should have just phased it in. They didn't, so the excuse is just an excuse.
This is cool!! Way to go! Bring in some good national chains and some eclectic local stores to spice up the options.
Hopefully this will help the mall lose the label as the "ghetto mall" of Salt Lake. Mayor Nordfelt had done a great job trying to fix the tainted image of West Valley. Kudos to him.
Just tear down the whole thing & put in a Mega or a Gigante.
I grew up in West Valley and I hung out at the mall all the time. I am glad they are redoing Valley Fair, it looks like a swap meet in there. Can't wait until it is complete
