Comments about ‘Council to appoint iProvo committee’

It's great to know that most of these people were (are)in opposition of the project. Who chose this committee? Isn't there already a Telcom Board already?
I think this is another ploy of George Stewart's to bash the Mayor and the entire project. So what if there are issues? Deal with them and move on. There is no need to start another committee to naysay the project. What good can they do? There is still no money to back the project unless they are going to put it up themselves.

If iProvo were a private business it would be out of business. Private business doesnt have the luxury of charging a higher rate to customers and non-customers for services. (i.e. raise power rates on everyone to pay for the iProvo shortfall.) Not even the hated QWEST or Comcast can attempt this ill-conceived scheme. Youve got to hand it to the Mayor and consultants, it takes major brass to consider such trickery to try and keep iProvo afloat. Most of the options being considered will only forestall the inevitable demise of this bloated government boondoggle.

Stick a fork in it, unless of course residents want to season this meal with more of their hard earned cash. The iProvo goose is cooked.

All these committees that keep getting put together are just silly. What happened to the 30 or so citizen/employee based committees the Mayor put together months ago? What use is the telcomm board? And now, what another committee full of people with very little if any experience regarding telcomm. What are they going to provide. Why are we not firing those for the demise of the iProvo project and actually hiring someone to come in that knows the system, knows the industry and has the fortitude to make the right decisions to get this thing in the black. Oh yeah, this administration and the manager just want to keep doing the same thing while promising different results. The worst part is that the citizens of Provo just keep letting them do it. Where is the public outcry? Millions have been dumped down the drain by bad decisions and no one loses their job because of it, they actually get to keep their jobs while continuing to make terrible decisions or none at all. Apparently the citizens of Provo don't care that their tax dollars are wasted and will continue to be for years from now. Well this citizen does!
