Matheson is going backwards in his endeavors and should redirect some of his attention as to why there is a market for these fake(?) drugs. What does he mean by fake drugs? We have to assume he means copy drugs infringing on copy right laws. He doesn't clarify the issue and I think it is on purpose. These copy drugs wouldn't have a market if the drug makers were being reasonable in what is being charged for the drugs to the consumers. Too many people in america are on a multiple of drugs, many to counteract other drugs effects so we have drug on drug for side effects of drugs. Some people are spending a majority of their income on drugs and if there is a means to cut these costs they are obligated to take advantage of the cheaper drugs. Matheson's efforts would better serve the american people if he made an effort to control drug costs by american drug makers and drive the substitute drug makers out of business. If copy drugs can be made and sold cheaper then why are americans being forced to pay outrages prices? Matheson is still a puppet in government.
Is this really about making it harder for people to buy drugs for cheaper from Canada?
Bob G's order to the public that "we have to assume" is absolutely mistaken in his assessment of both Rep. Matheson and the proposed legislation. This bill has nothing to do with generic, less expensive drugs and copyright protection. Rather, it is intended to protect the American people from imported counterfeit drugs that may have no therapeutic effect or could consist of harmful chemicals - such as those medications that killed several people recently in Panama. Rep. Matheson is right in his efforts to protect Americans' ability to know that their medications are safe. He represents pragmatic congressional representation. Bob G. should be ashamed of himself for trying to misinform the public and turn this into something that it is completely not.
