Domestic partners can begin registering

It's a start. That's good they're letting domestic partners get benefits. Why not? They need it too.

This problem has only arisen because voters in the past established unfair benefit laws that are biased toward married couples. The state should stop registering marriages and require any domestic partners (gay or straight) to register and show proof that they are dependent on their partner in order to get shared status for benefits. Marriage is a religious institution, nothing more. Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to be committed to a partner without having a marriage license.

Well, you know the saying in Utah... If the slope is slippery, ski it. Is that a saying? It should be if it isn't.
