Well it's nice that officials are on top of this. They have good jobs telling the rest of us that we don't.

get ready for some big shakeups next year, the rest of the nation is going to bring us down most likely. pay off debt, grow your own food, diversify your income, things will get scary

Wasn't it just last month that our Utah economists were telling us that everything is fine here? They wanted us to keep buying super-inflated real estate and spending as if there's no tomorrow. Which economists have been accurate in their predictions?

Economists for the Department of Workforce Services have been predicting a downturn for some time. It the realtors associations and their cronies who have been suffering from severe denial.

Truth be told Utah's economy is currently still strong relative to the nation as a whole. However, that is subject to change. From this and other articles on the same subject they expect the job growth rate to shrink to around one percent. But hey, that's still growth.

Kelly Matthews of Wells Fargo, the guy who seems to get most of the attention in Utah whenever the media here want to quote a local economist about the state of the economy, seems to agree with you. Want to take any bets? I hope I'm wrong, by the way.
