Trent please don't go! You have the chance to accomplish something really special at BYU next year, a three-peat. All the tools are in place for a magical year. The money will be there in greater amounts next year, after your amazing performance in the final four. Just imagine your jersey in the Marriot center rafters and a final four banner hanging up there, money can't buy that, just ask Shawn Bradley. Please stay!!

Whether it be this year or next year, good luck in Turkey!

Provo

Plaisted should be a lottery pick since Y players are always athletic since the Y only recruits McDonalds All Americans

You're not that good

Not a smart move. Plaisted will end up playing in the D league, without a degree.

Don't worry Trent isn't going anywhere except to stadium of fire. he isn't good enough to play in the NBA. He won't be good enough next year either. An NBA team would be stupid to draft him.

Huh?

Wow...not a good move.

Awesome Decision

Hey, look at how well all the other most recent BYU basketball players are doing in the NBA, this is a great move. Good Luck and practice on your Italian (etc...) because it is off to Europe no matter when you go, whether it is this year or next. You stand no chance of making it in the NBA, but Europe like all your other BYU buddies, that is the place for you:) Seriously, though make the best decision for you and your family, everything else will take care of itself and there is nothing wrong with European Basketball, it is just a skip across the ocean.

Mike

Trent has the same chance at the NBA as I have and I'm 60.

Trent should stay another year and learn how to shoot free-throws and prevent the other team from getting offensive rebounds and stay out of foul trouble.

Scoobie

Big Mistake....should use the remaining eligibility to build on. Another year would make a lot of difference in the value of his rating stock...sad to see him go....but good luck.......he's got a hard road ahead.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. let him do it! it'll give us all a good laugh!

UNLV FAN

Plaisted in the NBA. What a joke. He can't even score in double figures against Joe Darger. What's Joe, 6'6". Yea Trent should be a real force in the NBA (rolling eyes) I guess if the guy wants to realize how bad he really is, then this is a good move. You have better players on the bench at BYU than Trent. He has no game other than one move that everyone in the building knows he is going to every time. Easiest guard in the MWC.

BigD

This is so funny, mainly because the media is making a story out of it. Plaisted has no chance of ever playing in the NBA.I don't think Europe is even an option-I think they shoot free throws over there as well

Tom, Tom, Tom

I'm sorry Trent, but I'm afraid that even I have to agree with the Uteys that have posted their two cents worth......You'll lose much more that you will gain.....You're looking at this as the easy way to go when waiting another year is the the right way for you.

To all pessimists

Just because your teams don't have anyone good enough, even play in Europe, doesn't mean you have to rag on somebody that has a chance.

Cosmo

A name comes to mind. Does anybody remember John Walsh? The NFL sure doesn't!

Bad Move?

Other than waisting a little money on travel, this is a smart move for Trent. He is just testing the waters. Now if he hires an agent that would be a bad move. I think he will be at the Y next year, or maybe the D-League getting muscled around by better players.

good move

It's a good idea to test the waters. He's not making any committments. I remember a lot of people criticizing Shavlik Randolph at Duke a few years ago when he entered the draft, but he was drafted and has played in the NBA for a few years. He makes a ton of money and has a good life. Since Trent is graduating, what reason does he have to stay? Winning a MWC title again? Yawn.

BYUFan

Sadly, I agree with UNLV fan.
