i have been there and if you are a bluegrass fan like me it would be hard to find a better place.
some of the players come from 200-300 miles and stay for a week or more to play and renew meetings
the main group that plays on the square has a biulding of their own in case of rain or when it gets too cold .when it is just cool some times they build a fire and sing around the fire as late as any one wants to play or listen.ilived in isard co in a little of calico rock right on the white river and a good place to fish or just camune with nature
.also the crafts are onbelivable and for sale all over town or to just look at if that is what you want .and all the people are as friendly as you could hope for

If your looking for a quiet relaxing weekend, this is the place to go. I'm not a full-blown bluegrass fan but I do find it relaxing, sitting around listening to the music. If you get tired of one band, just get up and move to another spot. Be sure to visit the Ozark Folk Center. I enjoy the shops on the square. I have spent an entire day just milling around from store to store. Folks are friendly here and will make you feel right at home. We live in south Arkansas, about 6 hrs from Mtn. View. We don't mind the drive because we know the the weekend will be worth it. The annual kick off is this weekend. See you on the square.
