CONGRATULATION I have heard so many good things about CASHE VALLEY TRANSIT. I would not recommend that Cashe Valley TRANSIT merge with UTA. UTA has destroy the BUS SYSTEM making harder for the "TRANSIT DEPENDENT" go where they need to go, BUS SERVICE has been cut. LIGHT RAIL and COMMUTER RAIL where the money has gone.

I must have missed something here, were in the article was there anything about Cache Valley merging with UTA? The only thing I saw was a mention of a connecting service to UTA. Wouldn't that be a good thing to your so called "Transit Dependent"?

Also please tell us what money has gone from bus operations to TRAX and FrontRunner? Before TRAX ridership was going down and so was revenues. That has been reversed thanks to TRAX.

You worry about how you are going to get around you
go out and get in your car. The problem with UTA ADMINISTRATION and PLANNER they ride to work, shop
and etc. The "TRANSIT DEPENDENT" people the are cannot drive for example the blind, people that do not have a car, disabled, elderly and etc. UTA does
not stand by their MISSION STATEMENT, UTA has been cutting routes 10 years to plan for LIGHT RAIL and
FRONTRUNNER. UTA does not care about "TRANSIT DEPENDENT". PLEASE PLEASE HELP UDOT!

Tammi, were did the money to build TRAX and Frontrunner come from? Oh yes from the Feds and the sales tax increase supported by the voters. It did not come from bus operations. Wake up and stop smelling Bill Tibbet's and Michael Packard's tainted coffee.

I have have alot respect Bill Tibbet's and Michael
Packard's. They understand what UTA has destory the
bus system. Voters voted for a improvement in the
"TRANSIT SYSTEM" not the DESTRUCTION of the BUS SYSTEM. John Inglish General Manager Salary $266,614
also get a BONUS $39,860, the Governor Huntman make
$107,200, John Inglish make $159,141 more then the Governor. There is also 9 High Payed EXECUTIVE they,
get a BIG BONUESES, ALL AT TAX PAYERS EXPENSE.

It is all so magical for you transit-believers, jmdspk. You are so busy making mistakes, rewriting history, and fooling the public, that you are conned by your own agitprop.

UTA has gotten billions through fraud. That tax hike you refer to was gotten through conning the public with fraudulent TRAX counting "success". There never was 58,000 TTRAX riders a day, never!

But, UTA, the Downtown Alliance and the Mayors were still talking about the TRAX and "Transit" successes clear up to the UTA announcement last December that they had overcounted by 20.8%. The transit "success" was noted in the Long Range Plan at WFRC and in environmental impact statements.

But, there was no apology or any major study to document the effects of that propaganda and hype in getting that tax hike. UTA managers have crossed the line from making and perpetuating honest mistakes, inevitable in any large organization, to outright fraud and deception.

The "Fed" money you refer to comes from gas and diesel taxes. UTA has burned about 100 million gallons of diesel, paid-for by taxpayers, and never paid a penny in fuel taxes to support the roads they run on.

Cache Transit, Beware of UTA!

Thanks, Tammi and Michael for highjacking what should have been a positive story with your tired propaganda.
RE: Michael Packard | 4:34 a.m. June 17, 2009
Michael - the press release about the overcounting was an error. It was based on a new passenger automated passenger count system. Due to several glitches, the system was significantly undercounting passengers. The glitches have for the most part now been fixed, and show that the previous numbers extrapolated through counting on a car and statistically figuring ridership for the system was fairly close to the actual number.

Unfortunately, UTA PR released the undercounted numbers before finding out about the glitch giving critics like you false information.
