Boycotting the Olympics will mean nothing to China.
But it will dash the hope and the dreams of our young athletes. These young Americans have worked so very hard to compete.
We need good news - like winning a bunch of medals. It is about the athletes, not political grand standing.
The IOC knew the Chinese weren't perfect when they got the Olympic nod some years ago. If BOMBING the Games made Tibet free, that would be worth thinking about, but protests just don't carry much weight. Let's be fair to the athletes.
I agree with both comments! What good would it do anybody to boycott the Games! I think that is a silly request!
I think a more effective way of sending a message would be to deny them the games in their country and put the games elsewhere.
Why can't we boycott the US for its war in Iraq, Guantanamo Bay, war in Vietnam, nuclear war killing ppl in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
Clinton can say whatever she wants because her head is not the one on the line. Sure, on with the provocative lines, make the US more hated than ever before. She was the one also who voted for the war in Iraq.
