Comments about ‘Skybridge an asset to city’

I disagree with aninymous. I don't equate the Salt LAke City Council with the legislature. They will not rubberstamp what the Church wants. I opposed the skybridge and am still not thrilled by it. But I am excited by the overall project and think that they have done enough to offset the concerns and minimize the problem with the skybridge that it should be approved. I give the Church a lot of credit for what they have done to improve and make this a great project- increasing walkability, putting the river above ground with a walking/biking trail alongside going to the Jordan River Trail. This will make downtownSalt Lake even more inviting.

Salt Lake City would be a little dump if it wasn't for the Church and it's investment. But what do I know, I'm just a Hindu/Buddhist Christian and therefore I love my Mormon brothers.

I certainly hope it does go as expected, that the council will approve the skybridge. If there are escalators at either end of it, various entrances and exits from City Creek to the streets, and with TRAX dumping people off right there on Main Street it sounds to me like there is the potential for plenty of foot traffic... nobody should be worried about the lack of it and let that be a reason to turn down the skybridge.

I don't comprehend the irrational hatred of a bridge between the two parts of the development. I have been told that it will "trap" customers on the top level. GARBAGE!! Go a little west of downtown and look at the Gateway. Three sky bridges, and still lots of people walking around on the lower level. There is no problem with those, and will be no problem with the one downtown.
