LDS Hymn "Pass Me Not" . . .?
Interesting inaccuracy by the D News. I did not recognize the "LDS hymn" referred to as "Pass Me Not." I did a little research. It is a very nice hymn, but is not inthe LDS Hymnal.
IF this person is found guilty"beyond a reasonable doubt"HANG HIM HIGH!!!!!!
I send my prayers out to the family of this little girl. Her soul is now at eternal peace with Jesus. May the Lord give peace and clarity to her family and friends. God help the man who caused this awful tragedy.
This is such a heart-breaking story! For those who have been touched by the tragic outcome of this event for this family, please remember that a fund has been established for them at Zions Bank. Donations for the family can be made at any Zions Bank branch.
I know many thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Mona, you couldn'thave said it better. May the Lord bless this innocent child and give her family the strength to go on.
Who cares if the song is in the Mormon Hymnal or not. There are other Hymns you know. Maybe this was a Hymn to them. Who cares it was beautiful and touching. Let's not get caught up in pettiness, let's not take the sweetness of a beautiful muscial number/hymnal whatever you want it called away from the family. That is not important. What is important os to love, care about and pray for this family and admire them for the way they are handling such a horrific loss and tragedy- that is what is of real importance!
is it really
that important?best to the family.
Amen to Hymnsinger, LDS Friend and Mona- well said.
Truly Heartbreaking. May this sweet family find peace and comfort in their memories as they deal with the sorrow of losing their little angel.
Many beautiful songs are not hymns. Wasn't "O Danny Boy" played at President Hinkley's graveside by the bagpiper? I can't find that one in the hymnbook.
My prayers are with the family of the little girl.
For we outsiders of the state, what is the address to send money to ???????
I'm 68 years old and I can hardly see to type for tears. As her mother said God wanted her more. According to my faith they will be reunited.
I have been working with the Refugees for the Past 2 years as a volunteer and I have seen many people who take advantage or treat these people unfairly. I hope this situation with this beautiful family will open the hearts of the people of SLC and the world. They are wonderful kind and loving people and are trying hard to make their homes here in SLC. Although it is difficult for them to find jobs above $8.00 an hour and try to support and provide for their families. Please as time goes by do not forget about these refugees, take this horrible situation to open our eyes and let them into our hearts. If you are interested in being a mentor to one of these great families please let me know because there are many that need friends and people that care and can help. You will not find a more rewarding work.
Thanks You,
Shelley
Where in the Deseret News article does it mention that the song sung was from the LDS hymnal. No where that I could see. It was a song which evidently has its origin from the people that sang it and was appropriate for her funeral.
May our Father in Heaven comfort them. They are in our prayers.
How great it is to know tha a loving Heavenly Father has recieved this little child. She is perfect and will gin the best that the Father has. To her family, you will be sustained by many, many prayers in your behalf. We have a special love for your family.
Shelley,
How does one go about getting involved as a mentor or friend to one of these families? Please fill me in with the details. I would love to help out these wonderful people any way that I can.
One way you can help: you can call the ESL Center and volunteer to be a tutor to help them learn English and navigate the system. The International Rescue COmmittee can also use volunteer mentors.
