This guy was class off the court and his wife was also! Highly intelligent and would make a good leadership position person in the NBA as he has lasting quality for future players. He had a strong code of ethics both as a player and professional, wouldn't compromise if he felt he was right! Magnificent!
It's about time!
Sorry it took so long for Miller to retire your jersey so this could happen. I don't know why it took so long to phase out the Layden effect. We very much enjoyed watching you play and appreciate you for helping put Utah on the map.Thank You and Congradulations!!!!!

About time says it all. Long overdue.
go ahead and say it......A.D. to replace Jerry Sloan in the near future.....LOL!!
Re: OH come on,
Isiah Thomas should be Sloan's replacement!
i always wanted to know what ever happen too adrian dantley. i was pleasantly surprised to discover he is alive and well and will be enshrined in the basketball hall of fame. he was one of my basketball idols from the mid-late 70's and early 1980's. i had lost track of dantley for 23 years. this award has made me feel wonderful for a great person and terrific basketball player.
Congratulations A.D.!!! Us Jazz fans who know you and loved watching you play are ecstatic for you!! We appreciate the good times and hard work you provided for us Jazz fans before the Malone and Stockton era. You were a fantastic player and this honor is well deserved!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I hope that the Jazz have the sense to at least announce or recognize this achievement this Saturday's game against the Nuggets when Dantley is in town. The Jazz fans deserve a chance to applaud this achievement.
Anyone who know basketball, knows that AD put Utah on the map, not Layden, not Miller. This honor is well deserved and should have happened earlier. AD has always been a class act in the face of heavy critizism.
doesn't need to coach in Utah...he could make it happen elsewhere..where it's not so redneck and not so unsophisticated.
I grew up watching AD, Darrell Griffith, Ricky Green, Thurl Bailey, etc. etc. He was a scoring machine. He absolutely deserves it. I too hope they mention it at the Denver game. He deserves the recognition.
AD stalled Malone's progress. AD was a selfish player similar to Kobe although I'm happy for him, congratulations!!!!
I completely agree with A.D. Fan! Pistol filled the seats, but AD made the Jazz a legit team in the NBA.
AD was THE BEST at posting up bigger opponents and making them look bad. He was a monster Offensively and a good defender. Very Deserving of his place in the HOF.
Fire/Retire Sloan
AD could score on absolutely anybody... almost scoring by force of will. I will remember him for that. He didn't need to be open to score. He really "made" his points.
CONGRATULATIONS AD! You've earned this honor both on and off the court. You were a master at drawing the foul and could score on anyone.
