It is inconceivable to me that anyone could perform proper (or even amateur) taste test and show that reconstitured milk fromm skim powder could possible outperform product from aseptic milk produced in the US.

We have done thousands of taste testswith our UHT processed Extended shelf life milk. This would use a similar process to the one that Gossner uses. The only differnec is that our product is not packaed in Tetra Brik. Hoever the standard that we compare products to is that of pasteuriezed milk domesticaly. Comparing to something like powdered is "layup" for product with the quality of Gossner's.

The only downside is the cost to move from the US to the MIddle East.

I have lived in the Arabian peninsula area for over 20 years. UHT milk has long been available in this part of the world. It is inaccurate to say that most of the milk available here, UHT or otherwise, is reconstituted from powder. The article states:

"Most of the milk consumed by Americans in the Middle East is reconstituted or powdered, coming out of Kuwait, and some from a dairy in Bahrain as well."

If this is true for Americans in the Middle East it is a personal choice. There are multiple dairy farms here that produce fresh milk and apply UHT treatment for shelf life milk as well as sell fresh and powdered milk. I see no reason to import American UHT treated milk to this part of the world other than the profit that it would gain the company behind the push to do so.

This is for Paul who made that comment. Obviously you don't get the picture. Maybe it is about pride. Basic Trainees here in the country drink dad's milk, and I am proud of that. And I would be proud to drink dad's milk overseas. If we take care of our own economy, our own soldiers, and everyone benefits what is wrong with that? We used to be proud of "Made in America." It might cost more money but will we be afraid of mad cow disease, e coli in our tomatos, or lead in paint on children's toys? Past wars the country banded together and wives built tanks and weapons for their soldiers when it was inappropriate for women to work. What is the country doing now but complaining?
