When I lived in St. George, I had interaction at my work with the Hillsdale group. I have to say, as individuals, I liked most that I came in contact with, I was not impressed with Rulon Jeffs, the then leader. The people that came into my work were very polite, mind you, they were low on the totem pole. OK, that being said, because these families I dealt with didn't have child brides and I think they only had two each, they didn't bother me. But I do not condone or accept these young children being forced to marry and to make babies, when they are still children themselves. Many are there because they want to be and that is all they have known, but many do not want to be there, but are forced to be. I do not condone plural marriage, but if those that marry are doing so by choice and are 18, then that is their choice, just leave the children alone. The sad thing is also what happens with the boys, they are forced out and I remember reading a few years ago that they were training them for violence. Not good.
