I work in one of the hospitals in Philadelphia, and I can honestly say that one of the biggest problems we see on a daily basis is obesity. It can interfere with surgeries, physicals, and mobilization; but most of all, it leads to a great number of serious illnesses. Probably the most common complication of obesity is diabetes, which can also lead to further problems. I applaud this effort to educate people about obesity and to provide more healthy alternatives.

Juice vs. Soft Drinks

About the only thing you are saving when you substitute juice drinks for soft drinks is the carbonation. Juice drinks are loaded with sugar and if you don't check the labels -- high fructose corn syrup -- blech! We need to be more aware of the calories we drink! Those add up so fast! Eat a piece of fruit and get the vitamins, fiber, and crunch factor!
