Why are they called protesters? They are acting no different that the lobbyist pounding on the desks of our legislators to get their way. If citizens are forbidden to confront their representatives then lobbyist should also be banned from the building. The citizens have more of a right to confront our representatives than lobbyist who represent a special group after our taxes or getting laws passed to benefit them. The citizens groups wanting their issues heard have a right to be heard. Getting an appointment to see our representatives cost too much for the individual citizens and this is our only means to get the legislators attention. If the legislators can't handle the heat from citizens then maybe they should resign. The only restrictions should be on illegal aliens and their representatives from access to our legislators or to assemble in protest. All foreign nationals have no right to assemble or protest our government, this is a act of terrorism if not an act of war against the american people. No foreign national has this right, legal or illegal. Foreign nationals, or their representative (Tony Yapis) have no right to assemble or protest the Americn governmnent.

I am sure Rep. Curtis will want the lobbyists to wander at will, delivering the "gifts".

Silly Bob G, the difference is lobbyists come bearing gifts and money. Protestors just come in with issues. That is why they allow lobbyists.

Lets do like NYC and have Designated protest area's, Like the mountains or A 10'X10' Chain link fenced area so the hippies can pout and wield signs.

Our Elect Officials will ignore us anyhow, except if we cough up the money or if it's election time.

They count on us voting for the devils we know rather than unknown challengers. They gerrymander "safe districts" where the junta in power can count on the majority of the vote. Even if, someone in the "other" party is elected, they all do the same thing.

They agree with the villain in "The Magnificent Seven" that "if God did not intend them to be sheared, He would not have made them SHEEP!" Unfortunately, "them" is US!

For education and amusement, write each plank of their party platforms on 3x5 index cards, mix them up, and let the Elect Officials try to separate THEIR platform from their opponents. I've done that over a dozen times since 1974, and only a couple of officials or candidates got better than 60% right -- a failing grade, even in the public schools that they are so proud of (the highest grade was Reagan in 1976, over 85% right, and he didn't get the nomination).

The hard part lately is getting them to even try, they know they'll fail because the platforms don't say anything.
