I don't understand what the hype is all about. My kids had some sort of awards show on last week which featured "Hannah Montana" singing live. She doesn't really sing that well.

Based on demand, they should have set a realistic limit on the number of tickets being sold. During last year's World Series, fans could only buy 4 tickets per game, and the demand was still enough to crash all of the computers.

Season ticket holders able to login early were able to sell $90 tickets for $1600 a piece. Others able to buy box seats for $250/each were able to sell them for $5,000 - $10,000/each.
Don't get it! | 2:55 a.m. April 6, 2008
For those of you who got tickets I think rubbing it in others faces is shallow. I am wondering if the GA comment is true or trying to iratiate others. I Just don't get how you get tickets. We tried three times on three different computers to get tickets to Hannah Montana in the Fall. I have a fast connection. The sever failed to connect me 3 times in the first 10 minutes. There has to some trick to getting through. I wanted to see (hear) Glenn Beck and Blue Man. Maybe they can do Pay-per-view like the boxing matches!

The pathetic truth is that there will be a ton of idiots who will actually pay the inflated price for a scalped ticket. Suckers!!!!.... and you might actually get an hour out of a teenager who already has more money than she will ever need. It's no wonder that Utah County is considered a joke nation wide.

I went into Costco today and started making a scene. I'm am soooo angry that they are buying eggs, milk, tools, clothes and baked goods and they don't even plan on using those things.

Then I went to Walmart and started making a stink. Do you Know what they pay for can openers? Then they sell them for a profit!!!!

Then I went to Taco Bell and gave the manager there a piece of my mind. They called the cops when I started screaming and throwing salsa packets.

Look. In a free market the buyer has no entitlement to buy what they want for the price they want. The buyer has the right to buy or not buy. The seller has the right to set a price that will move the product. All the belly aching and sob stories are ridiculous. IT'S A CONCERT. It's NOT FOOD or something else essential to survival. If you thing the prices are too high...DON'T GO.

"impossible" same here.. I got mine at like 530 on row 5. I cant believe people waited in line at the Marriot Center when you could easily get them online..
Excited | 11:01 a.m. April 7, 2008
I was LUCKY enough to get 5 tickets online. With 5 windows open on my computer and only able to get 1 to land into the sight. I went into the sight earlier in the day and created a login and password, along with entering things such as address, credit card #, etc. This probably gave me the time to accept my 5 tickets desired rather than having to enter that information. I am looking forward to taking my wife and 3 little girls who love to watch Ms. Montana.

My girls do not know that we are going yet but can't wait to surprise them with those much sought after tickets. I feel for those parents who desired so much to take their kids who were not able to somehow get tickets. I wish there were a way to put a stop to scalping or re-selling tickets. I am just excited to see my girls faces and see them hopefully having the time of their lives.

Hey the people, If your wealthy enough to pay an outrages amount of money for tickets, good for you. But those people whinnying, your probably going to pay it anyway. So you don't eat for a week,is it worth it? Maybe you should look around and see who sits next to you. Yeah, they will be spending "your" money in your face.

And thus Brad Pelo joins a long and undistinguished list of people to open mouth and insert foot: "Suddenly everyone was buying 25 tickets at a time. There's no way we could have predicted that."

It makes me wonder what kind of historically clueless utterances Brad Pelo would have spewed forth if he were in another profession.

Such as ...

A headline writer: "Dewey beats Truman!"

A president: "I am not a crook!"

A current presidential candidate: "I had to run off the tarmac under sniper fire!"

A BYU women's head basketball coach: "I have personally decided to demote myself to the assistant coach position so that I can spend more time with my family."

A University of Utah head football coach: "They only have time for one last play. Let's drop 9 guys into pass coverage and leave Harline open!"

Hey, Pelo, there's a reason the phrase, "You can keep your mouth shut and have everyone think you a fool or you can open it and remove all doubt" is so timeless.

Just admit you were horribly overmatched by this task. You basically did that by refusing to state the number of tickets at the MC.

It happened to me to. Got on the computer, got the tickets and it kicked me out when it was confirming the ticket sales. That's after they took address, email, credit card and credit card security code. They really needed a better system for this.

I would officially like to apologize for the pathetic obfuscation of information. It would have been helpful to know that 10,000 seats were reserved for wristband wearers and that another 1,000 seats would be made available (though with the stipulation of obstructed view). It would have been good to know that the online queue opened long before 5:00 p.m., so only those who queued up between 4:00 and 4:10 were actually able to buy tickets. So many of you are right about our oversight of scalpers purchasing 25 tickets. We should have limited the number more stringently so that people would not be consumed by greed. I can only imagine how much more enjoyable an event this would be if people didn't have to feel ripped off when they buy their ticket; $35-$120/ticket is exorbitant in and of itself, but to have to pay the ridiculous prices fair market will likely demand in auction is disheartening to say the least. I am indeed very sorry to have offered such dismal service and planning; I hope it is not too much a distraction from the grandeur of the day we commemorate our independence. May you still enjoy a patriotic Independence Day.
