It will be interesting to hear Our Savior's choice as His new apostle. No doubt he will be one who knows Him and will be able to witness it.

The Church has many temples built, now it's time to fill them with new members.

With the economy going south, those who heeded the words of Pres. Hinckley back in '97, will not fear, but will be ready to move forward because they are prepared.

As we heed President Monson's prophetic council, we will be similarly blessed.

West Africa, the Philipines, and latin America have a high rate of baptisms. But there retention was not that great and has been a problem.

If europe would lower there taxes and cradle to grave cost of living would go down. Do have problems. But active members there are stalwart. Seems like there is more General Authorities per member there native ones then there is in other countries. Don't know if new apostle will be American or foreigner but fun to make guesses on it.

Also may get Pacific Islander or West African General Authority. Haven't had one from there yet. Have New Zealander and South AFrican General Authority just now west african or Pacific one yet.

What a great article! I had no idea what was/is going on in Europe. Thanks!

I thought this article was going to be about adding an apostle.

The article was informative about Europe and its possible 2nd wave, but you wouldn't know that's what the article is about based on the title.

I personally would like to see the Brethren call someone from South America, Africa or the Orient. There are certainly several qualified men in these areas.

"western cultural baggage" and "all churches evolve over time" are comments that make me fear the Church is not quite ready to be completely transparent about early practices, doctrine, and history. I truly believe the vast majority of members and potential converts can handle the truth but too many people leave when it becomes obvious that there will only be denials and justifications.

Duh.

Of course they added an apostle.

They need more apostles for people to worship.

"The LDS Brand"??

What are we, consumers of a "brand" of spirituality?

Somehow this cheapens things.

Yuck!

Wasn't this article supposed to be about adding another apostle? Shouldn't it have been titled "European Convert Prospects", not "LDS Conference: Church Is Expected To Add Another Apostle"?
Why does DN need an article on this? Of course the church needs an new apostle! Duh!
