I hope Brooke bounces back. She is talented and such a refreshing presence, a real sweetheart. I'd like to see more of her.

David Archuleta hit it OUT of the PARK this week! His rendition of "Smokey Mountain Memories" was just exquisite! The underlying story on this site has a link to his performance, and it's definitely worth your time and trouble to go watch it. I like it even better than his "Imagine" that was so beautifully done even Yoko Ono(!) called the show's producer to say she loved it.

This kid has a big future in the music industry. His voice is just amazing! It's so pure, so heartfelt and soulful. Plus, he has an incredibly endearing personality and is just plain adorably cute.

You hear that he has a big fan base of tweens, but his support is far more broad than that. Actually, 30% of his supporters are male, and 70% are female. Age-wise, only 30% of his fans are 17 and under, 27% are 18-30, 42% are over 30 years of age.

If David doesn't win American Idol, there is definitely something rotten in Denmark! He'll be signed to a major lable, regardless. Go, David!

How can you not love Brooke? She is very talented. She has had 2 "bad" weeks and really needs to "step it up".She could do a great Carly Simon or Carol King type on genre. David A. will probably win it all or come in second. But both of them are on thier way to great career in music!

hi just wanted to say that David really sang with the spirit it was wonderful the gospel shines out of him

Me

David has a good voice, but lacking in stage presence. He needs to start moving around and pick some upbeat songs. Watch michael Jackson when he was just a boy with the Jackson 5. Now that is stage presence!

To compare David to M. Jackson is ridiculous. Davids voice is pure - he doesn't scream into the
microphone - you can actually understand the words he is saying. Also his voice is distinctive. I know
the judges think they can make more money off David
Cook but they better look again. He is just another
rocker - they all sound the same. You can put David
Archuleta on the stage with any great singer and he
will be a compliment to them. I don't care if he
doesn't dance around - I don't want to see him dance, I want to hear him sing.

I agree with sofasu. My preference is for David stand there and sing his heart out. There is SO much passion and power in his soaring, beautiful vocals. His voice is just piercing to me; he can make me tear up pretty easily. That's especially true of the Christmas songs on YouTube and "Smokey Mountain Memories".

As he matures in the music business, he'll step things up a bit regarding performances. As he said in an interview, he admires Michael Jackson because "he's the king of performing". He'll come up with stuff to entertain people when he starts doing concerts.

I'd prefer him to have performers dancing behind him while he stands there and blows my socks off with that INCREDIBLE voice of his. Love this kid so much! What's not to love?!

I agree with julie above. You can often really feel the Spirit when David sings (depending on the song, primarily). I pointed that out to my sister Saturday when I showed her David's last performance when he sang "Smokey Mountain Memories".

Paula said, "You have a beautiful aura about you. You're just glorious! You really are." I said, "She doesn't know it, but she's feeling the Spirit!!"
